Oh noes. I honestly prayed that they will kill the Note line. Rumours of Note 8 only means more milking, more waiting for 6 months merely to get pen support, it means no pen support in S series.
I hope those rumours are false. I want my SPEN fix come March. No way I'm waiting until October just to get S8 Redux plus pen and then having to pay for it through the nose. No way... just die Note line.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 20174k display is another nonsense. It's nothing more than the ... moreIt's everything for VR. Go back to 2008 where you came from.
Have you seen netflix on VR, if not , pay your 10000 TV to get a worse experience than what a 4k video would....

I don't much care for a uhd res but it'll be a great help for vr. Better polish mine since it's been gathering dust ever since the note 7 died. However, i do hope the next note will still give me over a day on a single charge with the usage i usually have for my smartphones. A faster cpu and better gpu should also be there. The rest i can live with a note 7 par exprience.

Better send a battery the size of a backpack to feed that pig.
Why do people think their phone has to be everything at once? Why can't it just be a phone?
If you want to loose yourself in VR, buy a headset with the 4k screen built in.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2017Super amoled 4k is much better than the reflection display ... moreSamsung amoled technology is vastly superior in color accuraccy, screen reflectiveness, brightness output, viewing angles, power efficiency, etc. Even compared to any display out there...

Just make the battery removable/replaceable and give it enough space to expand.

4k display is retarded. Unless I used a magnifying glass or looked ridiculously closer than a normal viewpoint it was impossible to see the extra pixels from a Note 3 full HD to Note 4 UHD screen now going 4k? Crazy it will just overload the graphics processor and battery. Why to out spec Apple. Bixby is also a joke what chance can Samsung have to best Google Voice that had a Billion thrown at it for Google Glass and Android when Apple's Siri is hopeless. At best Bixby will be a sorry third after GV & Siri. For the record I still use Note 5 & S7Edge but the extra pixels are dumb as....

For those who say they still love their Note7:
Enjoy it while it lasts. Carriers are killing them off within the next few days, and have already killed some: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_malaysia_to_power_down_all_galaxy_note7_on_dec_31-news-22416.php

They will go ahead and call it Note8? A successor to a non existing Note7? I think they'd better call it Note7 "take 2"😂😄😆.

This is a "flagship" phone. The only reason it needs for 4K is "because it can".
But practically, it is needed for VR, which Samsung and Google are both pushing - the display has to support 4K in order to support broadcast-standard "Full HD" 1080p in each eye.
The tech isn't ready to support the new media standard, 4K "Ultra HD", in each eye yet, since that will require a 16K display - and many of you are complaining about 4K's effect on battery life...
Besides, 16K will likely always be overkill on a sub-6" device for anything else, until we have electronic optical implants. And those would be better designed for a direct feed rather than needing to read a separate device like a phone.
For the next version after this one - which sure better have 4K - I think more RAM should be the next important item - either that or better video processing, which itself will likely need more RAM, since 4K VR with real-time 3D modeling and user interaction will probably push what this version can handle.
And yes, if Android doesn't already have something to handle such, it needs to allow variable type sizes and image rescaling for people who want partial-screen content to stay the same size as on their old 1080p or 1280p phone. After all, we can only read text so small - until we get those cybernetic implants, anyway.

I had the Note 7 absolutely fantastic phone to doing business with can't wait for the Note 8 I'm using my old Note 3 it's still ok but a note 7 much better didn't really like curved edges screensavers don't stay on like they should.
