needs lots of salt. the oled panel can bend, the internals can bend, what about the glass for proper touch? highly doubtfull..

Foldable screens as Curved disp. are useless but it's cool to taste new innovations. Besides, it is not necessary for all phones to look exactly the same. We customers must have wide choice

apple fans says that phones with screen size north of 5 inches are overkill. now they have the "plus" phablets.
samsung haters bash the edge display feature. now bunch of EOMs are on board the edge hype train.

My point is that everyting else fails. Like foldable screens, break-away keyboards ... etc.
Just look at the fate of flip phones, blackberies and late experiments (Samsung round). Everything fails because the only design that works is that of a slab.
I agree with the posted above that Jobs stole, so what? He was the first to make money of those ideas. Therefore it's his idea as far as setting a trend goes.
Jobs' idea lives on (and will continue for decades), every other idea dies. The industry has yet to produce a more charismatic figure, so we're stuck with his outdated ideas. Like Western science being stuck with Aristotle for centuries despite his idea being garbage. All because more charismatic individuals did not show up (Until Galileo and Newton).

They do, because it's "shiny". They do, because they are told to. Sometimes they even do, because it's...expensive ("premium").
I wonder when/if the madness will stop and when/will people realize in 2017 having a smartphone is not a big deal and no one will care what phone you have. Seriously, people are acting like they are in a 4th world country or something. Grow up already!

Steve Jobs stole every idea he had from somebody else. Jon Ives, his closest colleague at Apple has said as much.

Later they made good use of curved screen and thus the highly successful S6E and S7E were born. I think the foldable phone coming out this year will be in line with Note edge, just to test waters. We can expect better design and implementation from next year unless Samsung has got other ideas. And by the way phones in slab form were there even before the first iPhone. Jobs didn't invent that rectangular slab form of phones.

All those concepts are such failures. Apparently the only one with a good idea was Steve Jobs in 2005-2007, we're still using his kind of phone (a slab), we'd probably continue doing so for decades and decades.

So it's gonna be ultra thick, and yet, they didn't dare to make even a 10mm thick phone with less compromises. I'm not sure foldable will have any significant advantages over regular thick body.
