Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011So "personal" is better even if it is ugly, with ... moreN8 is ugly? LOL
Look at Samsung Galaxy S, it's ugly as hell and is made of cheap plastic.
Anyway, what's ugly for you might not be ugly to someone else. At least Symbian got alot of themes that can make the phone beutier, that's not the Android case, you got to die with that ugly Google icons and services. Not to mention that Android users got no privacy, 9 of 10 apps that comes pre-installed on Android phones are stupid Google services, even when you open the calendar you're requested to do a Google account. lol
I rather privacy, with clean, customizable and optimized OS, not a Java-running-emulated-overrated-crap, thanks.

New phones have better hardware, faster cpu and gpu, and can handle more advanced os, so it is only natural that Android isevolving fast into newer version as the hardware is fast improving. Nokia-hardware have not improved very fast, but N97 is today to old to be able to use the latest Symbian-version.
        Android is NOT fragmented!

it has 3 currently used versions (1.6, 2.1 and 2.2)
and 6 or so different screen sizes
not to mention different cpu (gpu) ram on different phones

that forces you to buy newer phones more often
to play better games, to have more features
and a lot of phones (about 50%) dont have 2.2
most of them will never do

Manufacturers not providing upgrades to Android. This cuts the ways to enjoy new features. Manufacturers playing game on customers forcing them them buy new phone. Ridiculous.

It makes sense to buy Google branded phone like Nexus series. At least we are sure that new OS upgrade will be available.

Android develops fast and newer better versions come often, while Symbian mostly stay the same with few updates, and getting newer versions is not the same as getting fragmented. There is only 1 Android, and Samsung and HTC..., choose to make their own "versions" of Android, but Android itself is still only 1 and gets updated to newer better
versions often. N97 is a Symbian but it can not use the latest Symbian version, Symbian3, and not alk old Android-phones can use the latest versions of Android.

i have samsung (galaxy s) and nokia. Nokia is not even close to samsung and android. Nokia works very slow, freezes all the time, accelerometer takes 4 sec to rotate the screen, homescreen sucks, notifications suck, no apps, the phone restarts itself,...
But when i bought samsung, i was amazed. The phone is really responsove and fast (there is a little lag, but not as bad as nokia), there is many options to customize the phone, notification system is great, there are many many apps (over 200 000!), touchscreen works very well,... Oh, about the screen: its great, the colors are really good, resolution is also good and its visible in the sun,...
Nokia cant even compare to samsung and android. No way.

You're so right about Android being fragmented. I will never go back to Android! I couldn't dl a decent game cause "gingerbread" wasn't supported at that moment... WTF! Isn't Ginger supposed to be the shyt? Anyhow, I got myself a N8 and I'm very happy with it... playing all the HD games that Android doesn't even have.... or atleast you gotta have a "certain phone/update" to do so. LOL.

[deleted post]You got it right... I bought the Nexus S (my first Android) when it came out and I tell you.... very disappointed. This is Google's flagship device?? Wow. I couldn't even DL a HD game. The thing froze a lot and would reboot like crazy. NO LED notification, no 720p recording, all plastic and very prove to get scratched up. And don't get me started on the Market place. I sold it on Craigslist for $380... and used that money for a Nokia N8. I tell you... this device rocks... I went to the OVI market and all the HD games that are on my Ipod touch were there!!!!!!! OVI market>>> Android Market! Say whatever you want about Symbian... at least they're not fragmented like Android!

Samsung can do keep their own display if they want. Plus there are shortages on amoled displays.

I have bought my Nexus S in france already. It is suppose to arrive at official stores by the end of January, but through an franch online shop, I was able to get mine. It came with a US adaptor, so I guess they are importing these first one directly... ?
anyway, my question is: I can I be sure if my Nexus S came with an SuperAmoled or a S-LCD ??
