Just to add some more points about the Bravia phones..its not really Bravia-labeled phone but its using Bravia technology and the screen has widescreen ratio..some of the phone has a 3" screen.

yeah, even if SE is a smaller company, Sony can always support it.

The SE phones with the Bravia screen does exist and its available in Japan. SE makes very nice phone for the Japan market. You can see some examples of Bravia phone on the previous page of my post.

I´m interested, is SE really coming out with Bravia-labeled screens?
I first read this on the SE-nerds forum, was it SE-fanatics.org or something that way?
Anyway, that really cracked me up, I mean, take a phone display, add a shiny Bravia(tm)-sticker and double the price.XD
So I´m curious if anyone here happens to know if this ruomour is true? It would be so typical SE... :P

To iIta and the other uneducated ppl on this forum:

Wether SE's market share is smaller than Nokia is not the point. It is still OWNED by Sony and Ericsson. A joint venture. Yes it is a sub-division. It is not a 'seperate company'. If that were the case than Sony would have probably used a common Nokia mobile in the movie. SE's parent company is Sony Electronics and Ericsson Telecommunications!!!! So these two parents, can pump any technology into their mobile sub-division as they see fit(eg Walkman, Cyber-shot, Bravia, PSP(comin soon!!! :)etc). You cannot make comparisons to Siemens. And BTW Siemens did not sell their mobile division to Ben-Q!!! It was a joint merger!
Do you guys even read before you post here?!

To iIta: I thought it was something like that. It's a bit more clear to me now. Thanks for the info.

To PU}B: color does matter, just like clothing. Certain color can sometime look better on you. I think Sony Ericsson is doing a fine job..Compared to Nokia and other companies, its still new even if it's pass many years already..and I don't think the K800 is a overhyped phone..not many people say its awesome without a reason.

it doesnt matter what color this phone is housed in, silver black orange or purple, its just an overhyped phone, the buttons are too hard to depress, the cam is arrrggg and with 3.2 you just end up with bigger arrrggg pictures. i have nothing against this phone.. but try harder sony.

akm123, it's a huge difference between the whole company and its mobile subdivision.
For example siemens is huge and profitable company while its mobile subdivision is unprofitable and has been sold to benQ.
Same with sony and ericsson mobile subdivisions: buth were unprofitable and merged. But Ericsson network was and still is the biggest network company, even bigger then Nokia network. Its share is a lot bigger that SE market share (miserable 7%)

the k800 was choosen because its a SONY pictures money... what you think? its like to promote the phone.
well the "cellphone" movie it was a 6620/6600 =P and on minority report the 7650. so nokia its not so bad on movies either.

This is interesting... the fact that it's a limited edition instead of a permanent color upgrade seems tempting. the silver's not bad... you'll stand out from the rest of the normal k800 users heh. james bond or not, this is a choice for those who are planning to get a k800, wants some exclusivity and have the money to flaunt! I'm definitely getting this phone.

This is the right phone for a James Bond movie Sony Ericsson is a very professional phone full of function and very smart and not the sort of phone you would get street cred at macdonalds where James Bond would most less likely to be seen in.

iIta, so from what you are saying, if Sony did not join forces with Ericsson to form a new company then Sony and Ericsson each would be considered as a bigger company if they produce their own phones?

Edmund, Nokia 8800 Sirocco is not 3G so its out.

Gh6A, SonyEricsson has diferent leadership, not same as sony or ericsson. And separated budget too.
Sonyericsson is a lot smaller than Nokia, samsung, moto.
SE is even smaller than ericsson.

its more of a "secret agent" cellhpone

N73 is not bad. To me, the K800 looks clasical and futuristic plus more compact.

This is not something bad but somehow to me, the N73 looks like a container of some sort.

Maybe when we watch the movie then we'll see why K800 was chosen.

Just a point into this James Bond discussion...
I think Mr Bond would prefere something more serious and adult than a phone which has shiny marketing names and apps like MusicDJ. All that is so teeny... Just doesn´t suit Bonds style, in case he´s not 15 years old.
The phone is nice, I have nothing against it, prefer the N73 ME for certain though (and Bond might too).

OOMPA LOOMPA, of course I know he drives an Aston Martin but I was refering to any James Bond. Did I even mention it was the current one? James Bond is still James Bond.

At least you did not complain about my main point about the phone..just a tiny matter that only made me want to laugh. Plus what ever I mentioned before is not only for Bond but also for everyone else. The car was only an example not related to the phone.

Andy Burgin (mmUc), it sounded like you are trying hard to find bad points about this phone. You said that you're sure James Bond won't like this phone but you probably never even seen him use it before. The slide cover of this phone is designed to not easily slide open in pockets..plus he might even put it inside his coat. I don't think Mr. Bond cares about the dust coming in the joystick..it probably won't even hit the phone. It depends how you keep the phone and where you put it. If it's always with you in the pocket then there won't be dust. If your're complaining about this phone then how about the remote controller for Bond's BMW car..how does he handle that?

the black cover was nicer than this compared. n its doesn't suit james bond's myteries point. n the new colour was a disaster since k800i is build for this summer with dark colours while the new silver colour hits the market soon. K800 was bought by tons of people n now they are priceless since everyone got it. that doesn;t make sense. i suppose SE add newer features to this phone.
                                        thank you.
