I'm excited to see Nokia finally striking out on it's own now that it isn't being held back by Microsoft! I'm just sorry to see that they're starting so small with a mid-ranger, but it's perfectly understandable considering all the ups and downs that they've been going through the last few years, they need a safe and successful first venture before they can afford anything too big.

My only concern with this device thus far is battery size. Usually when a company comes out with a mid-ranger, there's usually some kind of caveat that is given for the weaker specs. While the aluminum unibody is nice and all, if it's going to be tooting mid-range specs I'd like at the very least to see a relatively large batter for extended battery life, especially if there will not be any fast-charging tech inside. Other than that, it's not a bad first step in getting back into the swing of things and shaking the rust off. Good luck Nokia! Hope to see you reclaim your former glory!

HMD is Nokia. HMD is founded by Nokia and in agreement with Foxconn for production facilities. The patents, brand, technology, design is Nokia. Wiki Foxconn. Around 40% of all user electronics - mind you, not only phones - are built in factories owned by Foxconn around the world - including Europe and Americas, not only China. It's a simple thing.. Samsung, Sony, Apple, MS, others..all are made in China/Vietnam/Corea etc..all outsource production. And most of them, for phones or other devices ise Foxconn facilities..just have a look. If you take a phone apart, beyond the design, just like in cars or other products, 95% of the circuits and equipment is made by someone else other than actual owner of the phone brand. I am actually sorry for one thing - namely that Nokia decided to go with Android exclusively for now. They could have simply gone the HTC way some time back and make the same phone available with either Android or windows mobile - regardless of what most say about windows mobile, I honestly enjoy using it above Android or iOS. And snapdragon 835 allows native support for win32 and universal apps - thus the main downside of windows mobile - lack of applications is removed..not to mention what I can see a phone like that do with win32 support and continuum.

                  Nokia is Microsoft crap now.
Nobody would trust such a brand nowadays with their poor decisions in the last 10 years.
Imagine the aftersales support etc.. You would be better off going with a less known Chinese brand like Xiaomi or Meizu.

Welcome back to the game, Nokia.
And people, seriously - stop being mad. This is the first Android-powered Nokia phone and it is a China exclusive device, yes, but later this year, Nokia will release at least five or six devices, which will be available (hopefully) in more countries around the world. Patience :)

2017 will mark the return of BlackBerry and Nokia.

Company wise a nice strategy to hit back with a midrange phone, but as a user I was expecting something higher on the sides of specs with higher budget, but nonetheless this will definitely pave the way for Nokia and rebuild it's glory in the phone market.

And what I would like to point out is Foxconn recently bought a manufacturing plant from Microsoft. That plant is actually Nokia's plant that Microsoft acquired during the Nokia takeover. Now this Ex Nokia (now foxconn) will be producing the new NOKIA android.. So it will be NOKIA badge + NOKIA(HMD) design + NOKIA(foxconn owned) manufacturing.. Get it??
