If not, then there's no point in comparing old versions of the OS with other ones. The past is gone; the present is here and now.

AnonD-625786, 09 Jan 2017Keep on trying to protect your pathetic Windows Mobile OS, ... moreJust gave examples on why it's an average quality OS. And why it's currently below Windows or iOS quality. It's there, it's written, it's based on facts, there's evidence to prove each and every point there, and everyone knows it's true. You can't deny the truth.

If you or someone else can come up with real, hard evidence as to why Android is superior to another OS, leaving personal preferences aside, then I will be more than happy to acknowledge that it's better. Until someone proves this, I've already proven that Windows is superior to Android.

Also, popularity =/= quality, so that's not a starting point.

It's a failure that nobody uses, and you know that. Android is the most superior mobile OS in the world, and Windows Mobile won't come close to it, at least not soon.

It's just aver... moreWow such a android OS hater well I was trying windows midrange phone out a year and a but so and I had to go in England as moving in with my boyfriend and surprise I needed my phone verry much for like using maps to don't get lost and browser because there was no app to check the bus train routes when my bf couldn't pick me up and guess what every time it would crash maps browser and other native prebuilt in apps such skype :) I had to rush to carphone to get a nexus 6p altough now I'm happily with a mi5. The best phone oses are by far Android as Ios, Windows phone is kinda dead and buggy even after official windows 10 release in the other hand on my pc it's really fine, Microsoft has to setup up their game on mobile if no they will really be dead I mean come on they even lost Nokia and that makes you butt hurt too, dosent matter if Nokia will be successful or not the more competion in the mobile market the better for the buyer.

Alien , 09 Jan 2017That's what she said.. :)) Pissed off cos you can't afford... moreNo, it's because Android offers nothing new. It's just average in all aspects.

Homescreen is outdated (static icons) vs live tiles, for example.
Menu and submenu structure is a mess and not organized at all. (as opposed to iOS and Windows)
Battery life is average at most. (vs. superb battery life on iOS and Windows)
Security holes - this OS looks like a piece of Swiss cheese. (Windows is more secure than iOS, which in turn is more secure than Android)
App performance = lowest out of the three.
Memory management = no memory management. (current Android phones need more than 4GB of RAM to almost work properly. 'Almost' because apps get force closed and/or the interface stutters/lags even on 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM.
File system = total mess. After installing and uninstalling a lot of apps, you get countless undeleted files and folders, random system files not working or getting deleted, app files get unusable or deleted, etc.
Personal assistant = well, it has one. But Cortana > Siri > everything else.

Besides these, the quality of basic apps such as contacts, messaging, gallery, calendar, calculator, email, camera, etc. is questionable. Missing important features, no QA testing, errors, and so on.

I mean... You can't even play Youtube vids in the background while using another app. And you still get ads. Not the case on Windows phones for example. Youtube plays ad-less, under lockscreen and while using any other app at the same time.

Playing music on your Android phone? Receive a notification and 'BOOM!!' your music's volume turns down and you hear a notification sound. That's dumb.

You want customized app notification options, like where to show it (banner, lockscreen, notification area, all of the above or none of the above), custom app sounds? Good luck getting everything right on Android!

Can't get rid of a notification on Android even after you've opened the app and took care of it? Only on Android.

Installing an app from the Playstore? You sometimes realize it actually contains malware. Not the case on iOS and Windows.

Want to be somewhat secure? You need an anti-virus - which will eat up more battery, more ram, more cpu, and will make your device lag and stutter.

Open up the calculator - where are the memory operations (M+, M-, MRC)? Need to turn your phone sideways or install a different calculator app? That's not acceptable.

All these issues are well known, and there are many others left, that I did not include in the above list.

I used to love Nokia, but the Samsung-like Home Button style just puts me back off. I mean come on, it's no longer the Nokia I've known before; designing their phones uniquely and originally. Aluminum 6000 is a killer feature of this phone that always needs to be mentioned? I'll tell you, there's the J5 and J7 2016, as well as their J Prime counterparts, having metal and costs way lesser. Is it really hard to make something original? They could've made the Home Button differently shaped, maybe like Diamond shape whatsoever, but Nokia is just too lazy and copied Samsung right away. I don't want my phone to be recognized as a Samsung phone when it's not, and I don't even hate Samsung at all
