None of that work buddy. Your Note7 still be useless. You cant make phone call with it since carrier dont support it anymore even if you change imei. If you are so smart you should had exchange it with Note5. Why all the hassle? What good in rooting? You lose all the samsung features. You could had bought a cheaper nexus devices.

"As a result, the U.S. Department of Transportation has decided to remove the requirement for airlines to make pre-boarding notifications for potentially unreturned Note7 units." Oh, now I understand why Samsung is so active in getting those note 7 units back. Makes sense.

If 100 of 2.5 million Note7 caught fire (they did not detonate), that's one in 25000. Since most of the *claimed* fires couldn't be confirmed, the real risk is likely even lower, especially among collectors, who typically won't even use the device, just own it.

A whole, non-defective (almost brand new) plane crashed because of a defective light bulb.Off course, you need to watch a specific episode of Mayday to understand what went wrong (sorry, I only remember it is at least in the 10th season or more recent)

One of the worst experience I have had with any consumer product.

Now every person will change their phone's hotspot name to 'Note7' when they board a plane.

It's no surprise that some of those people kept their devices, there are always someone collecting rare items. This process pleases them but they aren't always aware that safety shall always come first.

By the way, installing custom firmware doesn't look like a great deal to me. If one loves Samsung products so much then why would they limit the experience they should have felt. Software is an important part of a device

Seriously, the only people keeping their Note 7 are those that like to hurt other people. These people should be reported as they are a danger to society as a whole.
