Its just like buying plain windows. What can you do without programs? You can't even do a proper presentation without getting the powerpoint or equivalent.

The 12Mp N8 camera may not be able to compete with the 14MP Altek Leo with 3X optical zoom.
If they think that the N8 camera is really good, do leave them be. Save the good stuff to yourself yup.

We're now in a position where third party software is as innovative as a phone's features. Look at apps like Ping, Whatsapp messenger, and the Facebook and Twitter apps and you see what I mean. Social networking on your phone is now so easy it's ridiculous.
2011 will be the year of large screens that are 4" plus, 8 mp camera's becoming a bare minimum, Android and WM 7 gaining further support, and the decline of the iphone. Although this does depend on what Apple brings us, I can't see it being any more special than say, the Galaxy S 2, or the next HTC heavyweight.
I think this year could also see the resurgance of Motorola.

I have tried more than 400 android free apps to date, and i found more than 50 quality ones that are very useful. Don't assume that others didn't realize the potential of a smartphone like you do.

NOKIA fans are getting out of sense.....keep repeating their HDMI port and the stupid usb otg cable.
Nokia tried so hard to impressed the market by throwing a 12mp camera on a phone and forgot about the existence of camera and their weak software support.
NOKIA N8 maybe is good enoguh to replace my camera, but it will never replce my smartphones.

vladest, 29 Jan 2011agree and 0 of that 10 will be more or less bugfree @andr... moreGet real and face it: Free apps can still be quality apps. I know that might not be possible for some OS, but there are plenty of free great apps for android. If you don't know, don't assume what you think is what is going on. It isn't.

vladest, 29 Jan 2011agree and 0 of that 10 will be more or less bugfree @andr... moreAgreed. It is similar to a glamorous wall poster of a movie, for which one has to pay and see the full part of the scene. It is the old tradition followed till date. And the wall posters are "free apps". Anyone who needs to enjoy, needs to pay. At least free apps give a glimpse of the hidden world...

I think it will be interesting to see how Nokia will feel in android field, maybe it will become leader of android manufactures. And it will work on their own platform Symbian.

Why do they use such a strange word "ecosystem", I will never call androis or IOS or Symbian Ecosystem. Ecosystem is termof globalization or some biosphere.

How many of those 120k apps will you actually get to install on your Android phone? And how can somebody say that Symbian devices which have tons more features and functions than Android and iPhone 'basic' phones? What happened to your logic? Well, I actually think that Android and iPhone are for people with more money than sense. Symbian is for the really smart and wise people. And you will never know how N8 is capable of turning into a portable media hub when hooked to an HDTV. No, not low-quality but high-quality playback of HD movies on a large screen coupled by subtitle and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. And large file transfer has never been easier with USB OTG. Nokia Symbian phones are really converged devices.

Even the Nokia CEO himself said that it's no longer a war of devices but has become a war of ecosystems. He even said that they should make or join a competitive ecosystem. He admitted that Nokia has a "fundamental competitiveness problem overall".

Guys mark my words. Nokia is a sinking ship unless they come up with some really phenomenal. Gone are the days people are satisfied with basic phones, these are the days of smartphones are apps where iPhone and Android rule.
