Hail Nokia ! The Number 1 Mobile Manufacturer.

And also, not everyone uses smartphones. Other people just prefer high quality, dependable, durable, low/mid end phones too.

          [deleted post]Give Nokia some time.
And it's app store will rival apple and the androids in both quantity and quality.

By the way, I am a hypocrite. I am writing this on an android phone.

Nokia lover, 31 Jan 2011If it is needed. Someone will create such an app. There are some.
              Barcode scanner:
              http://store.ovi.com/content/2322#/content/2322/reviews?fragment=1&page=5 (see reviews)
              Business card reader:

Android and Apple markets have tens of similar apps which are free( and they work).

Can anyone take a picture of an object (tidy framed A4 sheet, a business card or a barcode-needed by text and business card recognition, Pdf converts, and barcode scanner apps on Android) from under 20 cm with an N8, upload it on the internet and post the link here? Do you have such apps on your N8?

In Ovi maps you can find an address only in online mode. It's free if you are using it in your home network, but so it's Google maps too.
Once in roaming your "free lifetime navigation" costs you money because you need to be "online" to find an address and to use A-GPS, and so it's with Google maps.
So please restrict yourself to mentioning only that fix focused camera which is unique to N8 family. Anyway people are very happy with their multi mode focus 5Mpix cameras iPhone and Android phones (except HTC) have.

have u heard rumours of the next iphone5 having a quad-core processor & GPU similar 2 that of the PSP2 NGP.

                          I really hope Nokia puts that ST-Ericsson u8500 SoC,& with Meego OS running+atleast 12mp Camera,it's enough 2 keep-up with our expectatins.

If Intel modified their SoC 2 b better than St-Ericsson,then Nokia should use that 1.

Seems like every1 have their own specs of the upcoming n9.

Dispite my distaste for apple, my reasons differ from what people say here.
The iphone has forced nokia and the other established manufacterers to raise their game.

They can get that soc going then they just ride the nokia bandwagen at 1st until others jump on board! Turnover would be substantial with nokia alone so they'd back nokia to launch their new soc's ahead of anyone else. Lets hope i'm right. Intel have the infrastructure to achieve this along with the right tenacity. I hope they do it quickly.

do believe most people browse on the web more often than navigation. Indeed, for navigation, how often does one need? To go home/work? Personally I still find flipping the hardcopy map being much faster than any electronics one.

How often does one take pics with the phone's cam? If being so often...more often than browsing the web, why not get a dedicated DC?

I believe Nokia will present absolutely new technology on 13th febr. All the other smarts announced today will look like toys comparing to new generation of nokia phones. New kind of processors are going to be released by their cooperation with intel. Let's cross fingers and wait.
