Anonymous, 31 Jan 2011it's not wise to buy new product without studying/review it.You're right. Meego isnt new though! It made its debut a long time ago in people are already running it on their n900's and Aava phones. Besides, at ces the platform was unveiled to be running on a tri-booting tablet device. The comments coming out of ces were'nt just on the tablet itself. Focus shifted to the meego os once it was viewed running. The comments were like 'polished' and user 'friendly'. A real big 'WOW!!' factor. The os is going to be awesome. Few glitches in the beginning maybe but nothing an update cant fix. Even android does that up till today!

chester , 30 Jan 2011Thanks 4 that site(mynokiablog),it have lot of nokia info &... moreWhat i hear is that the intel medfield soc is power hungry and the ST Ericsson u8500 soc is more efficient and better optimised for mobile use. Looks like nokia are leaning more towards the ST Ericsson soc unless intel has done some wonders behind the seen without anyone knowing! I sure hope they did as that would be their major trump card for nokia due to their partnership with intel with regards to meego. Remember intel also have invested hugely in the meego platform too and considering the fact that they are under huge pressure from AMD, their interest is hence vested in getting their soc better optimised for mobile use. They also want inroads into this market which their their presence is shockingly lacking. The potential in this market is huge and the cash turn over is a substantial driver and motivator for them to get their very own soc into the market. This is much like the computor wars all over again. Round one is lost by intel. What do they do now after regrouping? Balls in their court. I believe that at mwc, their announcement along with nokias is very much needed. Lets wait and see cos this is getting exciting watching things unfolding and trying to predict the next guys move. It is battle of the fittest and the hungry! Awesome i'd say!

Google don't care, they make money by collecting information from Android users and using it for advertising.

It's time 4 Nokia 2 deliver something,some1 said they spend lots of money in R&D but fail 2 monetise the results. We don't just want 2 b presented with concepts,we want 2 buy & realise their potential capability in our hands.
how good is the Intel Medfield SoC vs ST-Ericsson u8500 SoC?
I also think Nokia has something big instore 4 us at MWC.

chester, 30 Jan 2011really enjoyed reading yo post. Next 2 wks will b wild s... moreThanks, at least someone enjoyed it:) Anyway, i'm in the same predicament as you. My contract is due for renewal on...wait for it..14 Feb!! Thats about the time that nokia enthralls us with their new devices and on their new strategy! My cocerns are like yours too. They need to come out of mwc with their new phones quickly cos i want that meego phone! Btw, check out Mynokiablog for the details on whats to come. The new phone is said to come with a 14mp camera and a really good gpu. Theres lots of talking going around but lets just wait and see. Fingers crossed. There is to be some presentation on the day before mwc kicks off to launch the new strategy. Im rather keen to see what Elop says and what the forthcoming strategy will be. He has already made some good decisions thus far. Lets see what else he brings to nokia hereforth. Im watching the nokia debacle rather closely as i'd like to see what turnaround a huge company like them can make strategically to position themselves as market leaders by some margin again (if they can that is). Thus far they have done well to steady the ship with the n8. I believe it will be some big announcements coming from them at mwc. Lets hope they dont disappoint!

Mac, 30 Jan 2011Do you think that sales declined or the market grew? I thin... morereally enjoyed reading yo post.
Next 2 wks will b wild speculations foaming at all fanboys mouth about what's coming at the MWC especially Nokia & it's way forward(Meego & Symbian).
Nokia has 2 play their game faster like what Stephen Elop said. Now customers have money they shouldn't delay any product, release close 2 launch.I'm waiting 2 buy Meego phone now,if they release it 2moro i can buy coz i've the cash.
But somehow Nokia still delay &customers have 2 wait 4 months.
I won't buy other brands coz they're unreliable,weak&have limitations.
I've 2 upgrade my phone now but have 2 wait 4 Nokia.

Droid Rampage, 30 Jan 2011That's the thing I hate with my SGS Captivate. Samsung shou... moreYeah, there's nothing that wrong with Android itself, but the carriers and OEMs that take it and release it. Some of them are good with it like HTC and others are poor like Samsung. There needs to be middle ground and I know Google can establish it. Until they do, I can't accept any skinned phones. I have one of the Nexus phones, I shelled out a ton of cash for it, but I couldn't be under the thumb of skin makers or carriers. Maybe Google will announce a guideline or some options that touch on this in their event on the 2nd.

jake jenson, 30 Jan 2011Case in point: go across the pond to the States. There they... moreThat's the thing I hate with my SGS Captivate. Samsung should provide us updates but they instead choose to churn out new models with the latest Android. Why can't they give us updates? Is it so hard for them to do it or is this their sales strategy all along? It's not that the hardware can't take it, it's just that Samsung got lazy to provide support. I experienced the same thing with my SE X10. I was one of the early adopters of the X10 but it took SE too long to get Eclair out of the door.
Wifey's iPhone4 is guaranteed to get updates for at least two years but with Samsung, you can't even be sure if you'll get the next update. You're at the mercy of the manufacturer and that's my only gripe with Android. It's a fantastic OS but Google needs to put clear update policy and force manufacturers to allow the user to install vanilla Android.
I'm sticking with Android and my next phone will most likely be an Android. But this time, I'll make sure it got Gingerbread at least. I know the SGS 2 will have dual cores but it will be BS if they won't get updates as the hardware is so capable.

[deleted post]Case in point: go across the pond to the States. There they have a Galaxy S called the "Vibrant" which JUST got Froyo. Now the carrier is releasing a "Vibrant 4G", which is just a Global version of the Galaxy S with Gingerbread. So what will happen to the now dated Vibrant? Who knows, just ask Samsung. *sigh*

[deleted post]Funny because those were the two companies in the news for threatening not to bring more updates to their current line-up. What did they say to try and lower the uncertainty?
Oh yeah, "We're going to look into it.." Lol.

NvS, 30 Jan 2011Just curious : could you please give more details about &qu... moreThe iffiness in the multitouch isn't an Android problem, it's just with the Nexus One. The screen wasn't enabled do multitouch before the update. Sometimes I used it, it was great, others no so much. But they had multitouch fixes out there I downloaded, so I have little issues with it anymore.
