They were not as spot on as they are now. There was still some error. But in the accurate mode were decent and compatible to and better than most lcds. Of course in default they were just saturated

And duh it's only in those modes that they are accurate. That's the mode calibrated to be correct. The other modes are purposefully calibrated to take advantage of the saturation levels Amoled can produce....

How is that any different from any other display type only having the accuracy it's calibrated to have?
And why is it bad to associate Amoled with quality displays? The best displays are made worth Amoled.
It's foolish to just associate just anything with quality because there are low and high end of most things.
But you make that sounds more as its bad just because it's Amoled

AnonD-425089, 13 Jan 2017Devices like S7 & Iphone 7 already has those features.Iphone 7 has small bezels? It's at about ~65% screen-to-body ratio while LG G5 is at ~70% and S7Edge at ~75%. And the waterproofing on the Iphone is a joke as it's not covered by guaranty.

Actually only s6, note 5 and S7 are color accurate displays. The rest is extremely inaccurate in displaying colors. So I wasn't saying that people love s6 or S7 displays, I said most prefer AMOLED. Because they look great. It's simple. my friend likes s3 display more than s6, it means people actually love that inaccuracy.

LG already admitted about bootloot problem on some of their flagship phones, it taken quite sometime for them to admit it and LG not admit all of them. When it happened with G4, at first LG blamed users and after then a few months LG came out and admitted that the problem is design flaw on G4. LG did tried to fix it but even today seems like they still can't fix it. And the lastest V20. This time just recently LG blame users again for using cheap USB-C cable lol. I'm sure if G6 have the same problem again LG not gonna come out admit it. They can't losing face again for the same problem over and over again on their flagship phones even if it widespread like G4 did. I wish this time it blow up like Note7 did, not silently burn itself to dead. It would be easier since they can't sweep that kind of high profile problem under the mat lol.

Do not be disappointed!
Take a pen and calculate.
5.3'' @16:9 = 66mm x 117mm
5.7'' @18:9 = 64.7mm x 129.5mm
and side bezels are reduced too, by 0.54mm.
So, LG's new 5.7'' screen+bezels combo should be narrower than 5.3'' by 2mm.
At last i see a company stating importance of one-handed use.

So they cut all those saying "bigger battery". Typical LG never listens to consumers, only to those she wants to listen they do listen...
If they'd had heard the consumers they would kill the small battery, put a bigger one, plus make it swappable for those that need the extra something. Everything else in modern phones has been fixed. Two outstanding problems remain, no ability to use one handed (this one will be solved now , supposedly) and no ability to last the day in full day. That is to say no ability to go for 10 hours plus of usage (that *was* solved, but now they're "desolving" it). Silly LG.

i`m stuck with s7 edge.. whant so swich to lg.. but sadly lg dont have much bright on display .. :( i mean if i put s7 close to g5 i feel like poor g5 have half brightness ! i dont like s7 but i use it for the display .. with the s8 defitnely will not fool me again in special that there is no jack .. lg please make a verry bright display and i`ll buy it
