Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus dimensions show compact phones with huge screens

16 January 2017
The Galaxy S8 should be about the size of the current S7 but with a screen bigger than the S7 edge.

That microUSB port can't be true as even the new A-series have type C.
Also, again, that "hole" is to small to be a 3.5 audio jack compared to the size of the phones (you can estimate the size comparing it to the thickness). More like a IR blaster or some kind of sensor.
But that means there is no audio jack. Samsung wouldn't be that stupid to remove the jack without at least using USB type C on their phones.
These "leaks" are not entirely accurate or fake in my opinion.

Is it a joke? 142 mm is nowhere near a compact phones. That's a giant oversized shovel. 132-134 mm is maximum height for as phone. Everything above is a phablet for two-hand usage.

Let's hope Samsung S8 PLUS will have stereo speakers, but not one ear piece and bottom, but two distinct (one up, and one down) speakers.

          And maybe infrared too

If top and bottom bezel are too small, it looks ugly just like a big block. I think it looks best if there is no bezel on the sides, little on the bottom and a bigger one on the top. Look at Xperia C4.

If phone case manufacturers get such detailed info they would have leaked it for every phone not just S8.

please one model without curved edge screen

Small bezels like this are useful only if people want a big display in smaller size to fit in their pockets. But those who want compact phones for easier one hand usage then the S8 does not help with their bigger and wider display.

                                  Looking forward to these flagships.

Hm. I think I'll go with LG this time around. They are rumored to put a 5.7 inch 18:9 screen in the G6, meaning that it will have the same screen size as the S8, just it will be thinner. LG always goes one step beyond what everyone else does. G2- small bezels, G3- higher resolution screen, G4- that ergonomic curve and leather back option, G5- dual cameras and modularity. Catch is, is that that always leads to some kind of catch- G3- overheating, G4- bootloop, G5- sacrificed build quality and battery life. We'll just have to wait and see what the catch is this year...

(Please don't sacrifice the removable battery!)

Hey what "compact phones"??? What planet are you from? These phablets are very far from compact...
But I do agree on the "huge screens" part...
