AnonD-399271, 16 Jan 2017Mediatek are always 2 years behind Snapdragon and 3 years b... moreWell in-term of real-use, X20 is fast if brands use it properly like Vernee does
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smL8da4eH3w
    Results are very close...
Oneplus 3 with Android 7.0 is a little faster...we must wait for update on X20 (Kernel for Android 7.1.1 are available on some devices)

    Remember X20 is 20nm and 30 dollars...with 20nm Qualcomm makes 810, what a fail!!!
    Snapdragon 820 is 14nm and 70 dollars
Mediatek conception is between high and mid, not high-end.
They can't compare in game, but if benchmarks says 3x better, reality is more between 1.5x and 2x (still on well used one)...S820 oversized texturing capabilities to fit with benchmarks.
On FullHD device it's far enough

    On X30, Mediatek tries High-end
    Remember that X30 will be 10nm like S835...Apple A10 is still 16nm
And GPU will be 2.5x faster than X20

You should wait for it...and see real-use performances instead of benchmarks...I'm sure it will surprise you. I bet CPU will be better on X30 than S835...and in-game framerate will be less than 15% lower (real game, not benchmarks)

Let a chance to them to avoid Qualcomm's monopoly...Monopoly is bad for customers.

SD 821 was almost 4 times better than X20 in 3D benchmarks. And now SD821 will atleast be 2 times better than X30.

Dear GSM-A , Mi5 may be beautiful But its build quality was very very poor. JerryRig proved it on his channel. This phone broke into half on very little pressure.

They can increase the clock speeds much higher, as each gate delay should reduce @ 10nm node. But, there is a limit for increasing frequency, as higher frequency can cause the chip to become hot. Higher frequency means, higher power dissipation too. That is the reason, they are going for more number of cores, these days. A revamped architecture/design can give much better performance improvement (single core performance), compared to increasing frequency/number of cores.

The Cortex A73 cores will be clocked at around 2,8 Ghz in the X30.
                    Even higher with X35.
Single core performance should be really, really nice with A73 cores and that high clocks.

If it is then sure its a nice choice for a lower version of a flagship phone.
People who want flagship grade display, battery and camera but are not very heavy on apps and games can opt for it.
And xiaomi really needs to step up their game in the camera department.
Mi4 was good for when it was released, mi5 was just ok.

As long as it has a metal build with big battery, it can be an option for me. Glass and even ceramic are becoming irritating on higher end devices.

Yea guys relax, both are powerfull. Those who want Snapdragon can buy it. There is a reason the that Helio is cheaper, its for those guys who dont want to spent too much money but still want good performance.
