CPU ... moreThey seem to be focusing on power usage on this generation, the 835 chip is smaller than the 820 if you looked at some of the ces press pictures, that should tell you the focus of this generation. Maybe we'll get the kind of battery life sd625 devices have been getting with 4k batteries on flagships.

We don't all live in america where the flagships cost only 700 local currency. You can't fulfil customer demand with only 2 models when handsets can cost up to thousands local currency.

Something Xiaomi sould learn, don't release too much models. It confuse the consumer and not good for they business. Apple only have two modes.
Second, they sould focused on mid-range and high-end phones.

And this has nothing to do with the features of Nougat that aren't available on miui. Instead you get gimmicks and features that apps can give you, and wallpapers.

And it's score less is because of lower clock speed, not because of weaker architecture. Kyro have highest power /clock ratio and only second to apples twisters and hurricane cores.

Doze is a gimmick MiMix kills any Google phone in battery life.

S835 seems to be very poor in any kind of performance. CPU part can be said to be welcome to the year 2015 of the Apple. As for camera part of this chip , the same situation present. No 4k 60 fps, no improvement in slow motion recording.

And I've seen polls in Xiaomi forums saying they would prefer os updates.

The google pixel (which uses sd821 at sd820 clock speeds) scores around 1500, and so do most sd820 devices. The reason the kirin 960 and the sd835 score the same is because they both use a73 cores.
And the sd820 didn't use a72 cores like the kirin 950 did, and the sd820 scored lower than the kirin 950.
If you haven't realised it yet, the kyro cores in the sd835 are actually a73 cores, but the kyro cores in the sd820 didn't use a72 cores and used their own microarchitecture.

And therefore sd835 will use second generation kyro based on A73. And your kirin 960 cant score 2k while 10 months old SD820 scores more in single core. So you better increase your knowledge before throwing "probably" comments.
