Yes I very much hate the 2g network, I really don't want to see it on my phone at all, it's so slow. Thumb up for 4g and secondly 3g.

So....What happens if you are on the Unlimited Data plan and flip to tethering? fine print said 2G. they should have mentioned 3G as it would made us flip earlier.

Q for Q, 18 Jan 2017and yet tracfone customer who had 2G phone still didn't rec... moreDude I work with tracfone and we've been calling our customer, sending sms, emails, and voicemails for months now. Most of them are old people who need a phone just for emergencies. We've been telling them about this since February and yet here you are, blaming the company?
We are sending out tons of free phones and they just need to call us, but many of them won't just for laziness and you think it's our fault?
What do you want? a diaper and toys, little baby?

Some companies that uses ATT network or towers were informed that ATT will be shutting down their 2G network a year ago. These companies such as Tracfone are sending their customers replacement phones. Information were disseminated thru calls, emails and sms. And it's up to these customers to have their phone replaced or not. Besides, there are feature phones that works with a 3G network.

However the main problem is 3g is not 99.9% coverage (like 2g) so its old and obsolete but for many reason you can't shut down before reaching that %.
In big country city 3g will be like that but on national level is probably 85-90% (not real data here) so its a risky move to remove the best coverage connection as now.

harlekkin, 18 Jan 2017No one should be using a 2g handset in 2017. No excuses, no... moreDo not compare uneven things! Cars with no airbags are not safe for passengers! 2G phones do not belong in the same category! Also, countless of people use these feature phones. Why should they be forced to get new phones?
Also, there's the videocall issue. Why should someone get a phone with videocalls if they don't want to receive videocalls? It's called privacy!

In my country, in my area I have a lot of dead zones where only 2G works, including my house lol. If there will be no 2G then rip. Why remove it if even 3g does not cover all the area? They need to adopt 3G to cover same area as 2G and then think about removing 2g lol.
