Android (still, right!?) supports 3 different processor architectures: ARM, Intel and MIPS; and HUAWEI, as well as Qualcomm are using ARM. At the moment, the Cortex-M chips, correct?! So, to "claim" that one is miles ahead of the other, IMO, can't be definitive..;) :)

I understand that Qualcomm is worth over $100B but wow at those court fees and charges. it's difficult for the average person (like myself) to even comprehend that amount of money. That is a serious chunk of cash to be changing hands.

I m using Snapdragon after using KIRIN. Snapdragon is a joke infront of the Kirin.
Kirin SoCs are absolutely breeze.

thgun2, 18 Jan 2017And what does your mobile run on !!!on that note one runs on a snapdragon chip (battery life sux) and another on exynos and I don't have to charge it more than once for a days usage. so yeah Qualcomm snapdragon has poor power management I don't care who says what about it Qualcomm chips are cr@p.

Anti-competitiveness. I know one other company doing the same thing. Patenting everything and suing everyone. They reduce competitors' ability and incentive to innovate technology. Pretty much kills technology development altogether. All smartphone looks the same due to this.

Exynos has been very good to me so personally any chipset will do as long as it can perform ok and keep my battery from dying too soon.

Sue Qualcomm until there's nothing else to sue! They deserve it. But encouraging competition is the key. If that money could help new companies emerge, this would be good.

High-end 8890 is very powerful (just has a slightly slower GPU). But I wonder what does Qualcomm do about Samsung. Do they tax them when they put their own Exynos chips?
