Oh for god's sake. Can someone still find out which is the "new" device in that xiaomi naming-jungle?

Djeez, I thought the 5 was the newer model? Or is there a logic behind this? 4-series mediatek-SoC's and 5-series Qualcom-SoC's perhaps?

Then they wonder why these guys never gain any market outside of China...

I find this very disrespectful to people who already about the Redmi 4 line. Why not design a phone the way it was meant to look and release it, rather than release a half assed design and then release a nicer looking version shortly after... Typical Xiaomi

When I zoomed in in the picture, for me it looked like they just now painted the black border in white. I am the one who wrote that they should rename it to 4R, but now it looks like they just changed the Colorway a little bit.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2017Well, new ones would be released. But above users are right... moreBut if they release it too late there will be almost no cases or replacement parts for it, which is the case for the international/special edition Redmi Note 3 which is longer than the Chinese/Indian version and has almost no accessories. There are some official accessories but they are only sold in Taiwan.

If they release a Redmi 4S we want global LTE support as well, global ROM with China/India bands isn't enough.

AnonD-368020, 18 Jan 2017I always wonder Who the hell likes Those thick black border... moreExactly but what happened here was they trimmed the bezels but thickened the black useless borders

This is good news. I bought the Redmi 3S AFTER the Redmi 4's came out, precisely because I wanted a compact phone and the Redmi 4 was a bit wider and longer but also a lot heavier - 156 grams vs 144 for the 3S. OK the 4's weight is not brick-like but if you want a compact phone you prefer lighter over heavier. I mentioned this complaint a number of times in blogs like this. Maybe they heard me?? I am curious to see what the new models weigh! Now they need to do the same with the Mi 5S - which is wider and longer than the Mi 5 despite having the same screen size.

Now just ban white ugly phones.

So suddenly the cases and the replacement parts will no longer fit? Not so good actually...
