HYPOCRITICAL CASE:
"but i did expect X themes but dint get it so yeah a little disappointed" - Just the differentiated UI, thats it. All the update cycle and all will remain the same. I said they wont port the new UI to Z family because they want to maintain a difference among both.

I have used both the Z5 and X series phones and there is not much difference apart from the X themes. There is now more smoothness on my Z5 than before and thats what matters more for me. I dont know what you were expecting but i did expect X themes but dint get it so yeah a little disappointed, rest is fine.

Well at least they should have provided Z5 users a new UI and themes for god sake. What's the rationale they provided an update without having any major changes? Lazy? Can I put it on this way?

got updated. its faster yet heating issue remains...no support for volte...so it means all the same...just waiting for s8, enough of sony.. its like ironbox with horrible camera( talking about flagship quality), i used z1, z2, z3, now z3+... not going to sony anymore bcoz of poor camera and heat issue.. missed my n8 nokia for ever,,,

After updating to android 7.0 my Xperia z3 plus started to lag, I can't even unlock my device. I tried factory reset but it didn't help much.

There will be a ... moreBut you know what, most of the Sony users now actually bought a Sony because of Sony's reputation for properly supporting older flagships. Remember the original Z? It got all the features and updates until 5.1.1 even after it's supposed "end-of-life" date, where all its counterparts stayed at a measly 5.0.1. So what makes X series that 'special' from Z5 series?

The Pixel UI is beautiful to look at. The Xperia UI is just plain boring and hideous and looks like a watered down version of stock Android.

also that phone is not that old as the chipset is , so google may actually allow it's Nougat update ...
