If I finally can buy a waterproof mobile (not the deceptive "splash-proof"), with a removable battery, I will buy the LG G6 no matter the cost. My mobile now is five years old and it's simply becoming too old. :/ I've even been considering the CAT S60, but while the infrared scanner is amazing, its resolution is simply too poor. If LG no longer understands the importance of a removable battery, so that people won't be forced to buy equipment with a best-before date, then unfortunately, I will have to wait for the inevitably upcoming CAT S70. It will likely be a rather fat mobile, but as long as it continues to have a removable battery and waterproofing, CAT will be the ones to get my money. And an infrared scanner will be quite fun and usable, too, anyway.

See more = larger screen and Play more = a larger stamina battery. The larger screen part we are sure of but the play more part is yet to be confirmed. We all hope there will be a huge 4000+mAh battery inside so we can play more. Choices choices.

Jimmy chow, 19 Jan 2017It won't be 5.7" didn't you watch the video they made. I hope this is the case! It shouldn't be much larger than the G5.

Bezels are important and good. They protect the screen at impacts and they help to avoid accidental touch of the screen at the edge.

But otherwise G6 is looking very good so far. Big screen, low bezels, waterproofing.... I really hope "Play more" means a huge 4000mAh+ battery, because they used the same advertising propoganda with G5, and that had an abysmal capacity of only 2800mAh.

IMHO, we users have 4 choices left in the market (and LG has 4 segments to place itself):
1-Non IP protected phone with removeable battery which you can change in 10 seconds when the battery dies 1-2 years later (I haven't experienced any Samsung battery which keeps its full health after 12-14 months even I never leave it charged all through the night). Currently only new removeable battery flagship phone is V20 with very poor battery capacity (if it had a 4000mAh battery and a fashionable casing, market would be very different now). LG bundles and tries to sell it with LG 360+H3 earphone+B&O DAC (which is expected to be used in G5 and already has even better guts in V20). These flagships are expensive. But actually they have to be sold cheaper to eat share from below Type-2 segment. IMO LG has only chance here in this segment. LG G6 has to have removeable battery (can be IP protected like Samsung S5; in that case we would call it innovative!) and with SD card. With metal structure and metal battery cap, by using proper O-rings, IP protection is not difficult.

2-IP protected sealed battery flagship phones (iPhone7, S7, etc.) which you pay a premium after the battery gives up life or live with a battery pack or worstly become addicted to power plugs (We call it "iPhone style of life"). These flagships are VERY expensive to buy and maintain. LG has no chance here. LG has no brand value like Samsung & Apple. Only 2 phone brands can compete here. Huawei trying to put itself here in this segment. Wrong strategy.

3-Non-IP protected sealed battery cheap phones (Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu, etc.). If battery gives up life, you either make it changed or throw the phone away. These flagships are cheaper than Type-2. LG G6 has no chance here.

4-Non-IP, sealed, no SD. Nothing. Poor (and angry) man's flagship phones. An SD820 powered Xiaomi Mi5 is sold around 250-USD. People who are screwed by Samsung, LG, Apple for years moved to this segment. God knows how low is the profit in this segment. You need to sell ten millions from each model. LG has no chance here at all.

SO, if LG puts removeable battery and SD card inside, prices it properly, avoids that bootloop problem (man don't you have any engineering team to solve that terrible problem?; wake up it is 2017) by correcting the production method, we will have a distinctive phone of Type-1. It will survive according to its pricing policy (which we haven't seen any common sense so far from LG)
If sealed battery and with SD and IP protection, SAMSUNG is already there. No chance at all! If also removes SD card, we have iPhone territory which can eat the LG alive! Type-2 is TOO competitive for anyone.
God save them from competing in Type 3 (or even worsely Type-4) format and getting disappeared from the market in 2-3 years. Xiaomi, Huawei will ace this segment.

LG has already showed their boldness in LED TV tech over the SAMSUNG display, but in the world of android SAMSUNG AMOLED are still the winner. I want a bezelless display from LG this time in a more thin form factor.

why the odd ratio and resolution?
is part of the screen going to function like edge or v20?
