AnonD-536990, 19 Jan 2017sorry bro but I don't consider lenovo as a smartphone's bra... moreBro, Lenovo now owned Motorola brand name & their midranger Moto M also has Dolby Atmos feature.

KMB877, 20 Jan 2017Just copy and paste from before: Really? Beside President... moreMate, stop shouting out nonsenses. show us some sources. I have my own sources:

              1) http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/hardware/microsoft-india-mobile-business-headajey-mehta-to-move-to-hmd-global/articleshow/52496800.cms
              2) http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/biz/archives/2016/05/19/2003646564
              3) http://www.anandtech.com/show/10333/foxconn-and-hmd-to-return-nokia-smartphones-and-tablets-to-market

              There are some highlights:

              a) Microsoft will also lay off 1,350 jobs at the mobile division in Finland and 500 people globally, at a charge of $950 million, of which $200 million will be for severance payments.

              b) Foxconn gets a manufacturing facility in Hanoi, Vietnam, which is used to manufacture Nokia-branded feature phones, but the future of the factory is unknown. Foxconn will also get customer contracts, critical supply agreements, sales and distribution assets which used to belong to Microsoft (and Nokia before that). HMD will get brands, intellectual property, and software which were previously sold to Microsoft. Moreover, after the deal is closed in the second half of 2016, about 4,500 employees will transfer to, or have the opportunity to join, Foxconn or HMD Global.

              c) FIH Mobile Ltd- a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group- yesterday announced that it has partnered with Finnish company HMD Global Oy to purchase smartphone assets under the Nokia brand from Microsoft Corp for US$350 million.
Under the agreement with Microsoft smartphone subsidiary Nokia Technologies Ltd, FIH is to pay US$330 million and HMD is to pay US$20 million for the assets,

              So what does that mean?

              1. FIH has paid a huge amount of cash to aquire facilities, HMD a much smaller on brand and techs. Seems unfair huh? But it's tiny in comparision with 7bn $ Microsoft spent on the whole Nokia Mobile Division. Things they got back are feature phone facilities, the brand, and some patents. Now you may say: That's exactly why Nokia phones are now rebranded Chinese phones! But, there is a problem: Foxconn have no tech to develope phones. All it gets are production facilities. There is the third party in the game, Nokia Technologies, which have a seat on the five-seat board of directors of HMD. They hold an other batch of patents and have influence on phone development. By this way it means HMD is kinda a remote pupet of Nokia which help it to "secretly" test new stuffs and serves as the first step of TRUE NOKIA's comeback. Nokia gets royalties paid from it but since Nokia has no shares in HMD it also have no responsibility for HMD's fate.

              2. There are thousands people who got sacked from Microsoft in Finland, China, Vietnam and India. And ofcource where else will they go, especialy those from former Microsoft Mobile Division in Finland who stands behind Lumia phones?

TL;DR HMD is a Nokia's pupet, Foxconn pays for all the fun because they don't want to relay entirely on Apple and is looking for an another new, big company to assemble phones for. Nothing weird in this cooperation since Foxconn has already manufactured Nokia N1 tablet in 2014- first Nokia device since its Mobile Division has gone to Microsoft. Bigger bussiness bigger fun.

Please oh PLEASE Nokia! Please release your phones in both Android and Windows versions. Or at least one model that runs Windows.
I want a top notch phone that also works top notch. I can't downgrade to Android after I've seen the difference between Android and Windows.

The reason Nokia became the world's no.1 mobile wasnt exactly the OS but rather its patents, thats why google and IOS out perfomed it,so patent wise Nokia is still leading hence its still supply some of their patents to other existing mobile companies worldwide.

Now that its(Nokia)running on google OS,haters never let your horses loose

i'd rather have a Nokia 6 device first before i comment negatively about it.

And so many people still need to do much more research about HMD and Nokia then come back here and continue with their comments.

For further info I'll be perhaps the thousandth informer that HMD and Nokia are companies based in Finland not Asia.

Oh and remember that these very same companies are quiet aware of such comments,so they are very careful with their work and to prove many wrong.

My hint is that Nokia and HMD have many surprises for year 2017 and further.

                          So watch the space

Well... Nokia's back. But think again? Do we really need a phone carrying 430 snapdragon and that too at 17k. You can get 625 or 650 and even 652 under 15k which are way more good the nokia 6. Moreover, Nokia has no experience in Android. So, better not buy such a phone.
