Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 visits GFXBench, Snapdragon 820 inside

25 January 2017
A previous report pointed to an Exynos 7420 chipset, but S820 sounds even better.

Lemmfly, 25 Jan 2017No, it was decent enough by 2012's standards. I can tell th... moreYou know what else is different? The screen ratio on Tab S is 16:10. Tab S2 and S3 screen ratio is 4:3. Tab S can use 2560x1600 because of the screen ratio. You cannot use 2560x1600 on a 4:3 screen ratio because of the height and width of the screen to pixel count is different. So, they must use the 2048x1536 no matter what.

Pixel C is good at 309ppi with 10.2inch screen. So what? Tab S 8.4 have 359ppi. Even the Tab S 10.5 is perfect with 288ppi. None of this is 2012 device. Stop with your 2012 bullshit. No one using 16:10 tablet anymore. Its not practical in 2017.

Samsung never had 16:9 tablets. Get that part right please. 16:10 (what Samsung actually had) is closer to Microsoft's 3:2 than the phone like 16:9

Good to hear there's SD820 SoC & bumped up rear camera from the usual 8MP, hope it finally gets 2K or 4K video recording "wishful thinking" on a tablet for the first time.

At that distant 264ppi is decent enough by today standard. Its practically a QHD screen or even better. Have you seen a 2K or 4K tv up close? Yes, look at all that pixel on a 30-60 inch tv. Pretty much more or less than 80ppi. Can you really complain this Tab S3 with logical statement?

2048x1536 was good for a 9.7 tablet back in 2012. Check your calendar.

You're not going to give me the "retina so you can't see the pixels" crap, are you? Have your eyes checked while you're at it.

2048x1536 is very disappointing, as is the screen size. A faster processor and USB-C hardly justifies the upgrade over the Tab S2 in my opinion.

Ng, 25 Jan 2017No hope for me, i was waiting samsung out 16:9 ratio screen. Very few Samsung tablets have actually been 16:9. Most before the Tab S2 were actually 16:10.

16:9 is a terrible aspect ratio for a tablet. 16:10 sucks a bit less, but still sucks.
