AnonD-291, 09 Feb 2011nokia "lovers" are calling the report by engadget... moreBefore you bask in the glory of victory. You should know nokia still didn't ditch meego os yet. As far the article predicted nokia might ditch meego. But that dosen't mean they will drop meego os yet. A lots of money have been invested in developing meego os. And i don't think nokia will ditch meego os so suddenly. So keep dreaming about nokia ditching meego os, but that will never happen pal......

"What this means is that apps created for Symbian 5th edition and Maemo will now be compatible with Symbian^3. "
      (Quoted from the article)

Does that mean i can install Maemo apps and all the apps that were created for N900 ?

nokia "lovers" are calling the report by engadget as fake !!
reason: engadget is biased.... lol .....now major sites like bbc, guardian, europe times, computing.com, pc world, financial times, times of india are reporting the same news. now what do you say ? they are also biased? if so then the whole world will be biased one day.
its in most major news network and Nokia is still not denying it. that means there should be some truth in it. now don't say Nokia is doing that on purpose for wanting to be in limelight. coz such "burning platform" news can hit Nokia's market shares hard.

nokia are trying their best to stay in the race by thinking of adopting an ecosystem rather than making a new one and what do nokia fanboys say? "no that will never happen Nokia should Do this then do that......" as if they know better than CEO of Nokia.

and for meego fans heres some news from "unbiased" reuters : nokia drops plans of first meego phone - n9 : www.reuters.com/article/2011/02/09/nokia-meego-idUSLDE7180X420110209

Why wouldn't the memo be real, it seems a perfectly logical premise, the company is loosing market share, let's do something about it. This is a good thing from people using Nokia products

I'm glad I had an S40 device so that I wont get mixed up with these update ruckus. Smartphones are getting complicated every single day. We dont need those Ovi updates, theyre useless updates. Please come up with REAL updates like:
                *improved battery life
                *UI improvement
                *faster boot process
                things like that.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2011of course, haters will believe any nokia bad news hook line... moreAnd offcourse Nokia lovers will buff off any facts released by any media that Nokia is in a dire position. That particular report has been confirmed as being true by a few other sites including bbc technology. My 12 yr old niece told me the other day that 2 years ago most of her class mates had a nokia handset now it's all changed even she realises that Nokia has lost it's mojo.
A shake up is really needed.

It lists 11th of November as "THE DAY" so if nothing happens it's a definite fake.
It also seems odd to me that they'd make a big announcement 3 days before Mobile World Congress...
We'll all know in a couple of days anyway...
