lg has its unique feature removed the rest everything is secondary, it's like HTC removed it's stereo speakers in u and play, once they remove something which makes them stands out, rest is something every other company has, I'll be surprised if someone will even look at this phone when it's released its that boring

AnonD-425519, 29 Jan 2017I remember a few years ago seeing reviews of Sony Xperia ph... moreYeah because they had excellent standby time. Try to use those phones heavily for a day (6+ hours) and see them die as well.

As a professional I'm glued to my phone. It's my personal computer. The 6 hours max that most makers give pretty much make the smartphones to only be half smart. As for half the day is a brick.

With removable battery I can use them for a full day no matter what kind of day it is. Also zero charge time (I have a battery charging at home). There is nobody that could go back once accustomed to this scheme. Being tethered to wall plugs is the worst and pretty much what kills modern smartphones (that can pretty much do almost everything else fluently at this point). It's the one thing that manufacturers refuse to fix and it gets on my nerves...

Battery life is a problem to all, even to those that say it ain't because even them subconsciously limit their use to not get into out of juice situations. I *never* have/had that with removable batt. I use my smartphone as if it is my PC, because it IS my PC...

LG killing this feature is the end of an era....

aNONYMOUSEES, 29 Jan 2017If you cant beat them , join them , lel They can't beat them still...

To be frank LG could have used removable batteries as a special point. IE put capacitors in their phones allowing them to stay alive while the swap was happening. Completely replace the phone charger with a battery charger + extra battery (in fact same size as a phone charger).

In general be aggressive about it, instead they made it worse with G5 (by making the battery hard to remove) and eventually removed the feature altogether. LG is doomed, not only they killed their differentiation factors , they are now mimicking Samsung ... badly.

That was good battery life. Thanks to the smaller ~5 in. screen that has a 1080p screen instead of the silly 2k screen.

                Herodroid, 29 Jan 2017cpu is 20% faster and gpu is 25-30% faster, plus something... moreWe're talking SD821 vs SD835 , not SD820 vs SD835.

GPU is irrelevant , it only matters in (bad) benchmarks. There is no game to use even half Adreno's 530 power, Adreno 540 is unneeded for the next few years at least... (also 25% in yoy performance gains is too little anyway, desktop GPUs do far better than that)

Someone Else, 29 Jan 2017"SD835 is like 10% faster ... seriously it's nothing specia... moreIt's not even 10%. You're thinking gpu performance which is irrelevant.

The rest I don't even know how they can be relevant to most users.

They killed the removable battery, they also killed the battery life. There is no phone that can make one day of heavy use. Not one (ok there are some chines phone with 5000 MaH batteries). Killing the removable batt means you don't care about battery anyway (you can't carry spare). So spare me with the more efficient SoC, screen is by far what eats the most battery in fact .... by far. Take a look at your batter statistics next time.

I find it hard to believe Samsung taking all the SD 835, but if that is really the case I don't see G6 with SD 821 making any splash in the market. LG better wait till SD 835 is available and in the meantime solve that bootloop issue.

Well only problem with the mobile chipset in LG g6, and LG please just don't destroy LG v30 or whatever it's successor will be called, sad to see Samsung deal with Qualcomm, it is just destroying the fair competition, that's just bad

Not voted. my answer is, G6 will be worth Considering if it will have Sd835. Then price will be a decisive factor coz S8 will, I bet, as premium as iPhone due to pixel approach. And one plus is nearing the flagship price barrier. (after launch of 3t and discontinuation of 3, some sites have replaced oneplus phone by G5 in rankings. Though I like 3t more.

Personally I don't think Samsung take all the S835's. They also have their own Exynos SoC. I'm still looking forward to the G6. I hope it is cheaper and has better performance than the S8. We will see.....
