Nokia’s first MeeGo device, N9, dropped before it's even official?

10 February, 2011
The rumored Nokia N9 may never get to see public light, says Reuters based on industry sources. Nokia refuses to comment the matter so this still isn't official. The Finns are all over the headlines these days...

Nokia is for old people now. Android is for the new generation of smartphone buyers. Nokia will always make new model with same hardware as the previous one, just update one or two items in the spec sheet. Nokia Cheating People...

i am confuzed by the recent news about nokia

ditching symbian? is it the os used by the most people in the world now?

diitching meego? is it made with intel? does nokia want to break contract?

symbian and meego make nokia unique, why do we choose nokia wp7 or android if ohhers offer the same os phones

apple knows it better than me, i guess

Nokia needs to go bold.. Everyone has an Android, Let Nokia put Meego as the new OS which can do whatever is asked to do.. If they are defensive they would lose the game. Meego is afar superior OS than anything out there in the market and people need to know this.

Okay.. That's it. Gsmarena clearly has an anti nokia bias. The source clearly states that nokia is working on another meego device. WHY wasn't that hinted in the article? what happened to the old gsmarena crew?

The n9 was dropped in favour of the n9 01. The original n9 was a slider. That's not the best form factor when you hope to sell tons of a service. The n9 01 is a slab.

Symbian doesn't suck, it does much more things than IOS from Iphone does. It's just that most software and game programmers in he world are from America. If Nokia and Symbian were from America, they would have gotten much more attention than IOS.
Can't comment about Android because I've never tested it before but I've heard its really good. Back to IOS now, IOS can't even send a photo via bluetooth, or send a MMS until Iphone 4. WTF? Iphone really sucks! Piece of junk!
I've also heard that Windows Phone 7 is also very limited.

I look forward for a collaboration between Nokia and Android.

                  This is kind of funny.

gsmarena fronting mr eldar spreads this rumor in the first place. Reuters picks it up and now gsmarena post their own rumor as news from reuter.

                  hahahaha

Nokia is only playing with the customer's Brain. They again are asking for some Breath. But This time they will do this with the help of others. But behind the scene they will continue to innovate such product (Specially OS) and will try to gain its lost Fame by introducing their own Unique Product when the Android become tired to attract users upon its Maturity. definately they will do this with Intel, But it may take Two or Three Years. They have compromised to jump into cold water but they want to swim to regain their Lost Land.

Intel doesn't ... moreYou know something, I thought really hard about this and I hate to say it but it looks like this is exactly what is going to ultimately end up happening. They will definitely have to move to either Android or WP7. Only a couple of days ago the CEO of Nokia said that they are far behind and that Android and IOS are taking the market by storm. Symbian is good, I like it but face it the longer they take to bring something out the farther WP7 and Android will pull away.

Nokia will never go with Android or IOS nor WM7. You are all dreaming.
