Sadly, it can't be correct. As pointed out by others the listed screen height on the S8 is the same as the phone height. Also the screen width should also be very close to the phone width for both phones, whereas the phone widths indicated are almost 4mm wider than the screen.
And just when I was getting excited... :-(
Still, if the external widths turn out to be nearly correct, and if you guesstimate from the S8 screen height, then we're potentially looking at a phone that will be smaller (slimmer and about same overall height) than the S7. If so then Samsung is finally taking design iteration in the right direction (like the S4's shrinking external dimensions over the S3).
Assuming the rest if the phone is also noticeably improved then this could be a hugely successful package

Can't believe it because of rounded corners of screen but if it is true, then don't know how to react about it. And it measures 6.1" and early rumors suggested 6.3" so it can be indeed true because 0.2" diagonal may be reduced coz of rounded corners.
So nearly 6.3" and 5.8". So what will be different in note 8? I think it'll be a thicker S8 plus with bigger battery and stylus.

Looking at this render for S8 we can quite positive that this "eyewitness account" sucks. The inner and outer dimensions for S8 cannot be the same (131.58)...unless there will be no bezel at all.

131.58 is the length of the smaller S8. But, it is also the length of the screen?
