New Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus schematics come with precise dimensions

The images confirm the 6.1-inch and 5.7-inch screen sizes and highlight how thin the remaining bezels actually are.

In fact most of the Edge functionality I don't really use because the edges are not drastic and are more for a 'wrap around' effect. Having said that, the screen is still a proper rectangle (each corner is at a sharp 90° angle) whereas the renders for both the S8 and G6 have got these curved contoured edges at each screen corner. I just hope that if both Samsung and LG go through with them, they are not as drastic as the look on the renders.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2017Dear Samsung, Is this the worst Galaxy? Same camera, sa... moreCamera will be changed and improved, Samsung is picking a new CMOS, any existing camera leak has come from a testing machine that is not the final product. The S8 camera will go over the Pixel score on the scale of what camera is the best, source a Chinese leakster who has inside sources and predicted the rounded out screen in December

Design is the same, really? The screen is blown up in size and the edges are rounded, and home button is removed, that is a major design change, comparing to for example S6 to S7

There will be a model with 6GB of RAM sold everywhere, it also has 128GB of internal storage with UFS2.1 (faster)

The battery will actually be updated (minorly but still) from the S7, and the Snapdragon 835 promises 20-25% less battery consumption in heavy use, and 25% faster graphics performance

Only thing I can agree on is the fingerprint sensor, there were some prototypes with the reader inside the screen and some with not (it's not proven that the scanner will be on the back, because the ones that have it on the back have been testing machines and prototypes). A Chinese leakster said in Twitter that the back in the finished S8 will not be the same as in the leaks shown so far, all of the leaks so far have been "abandoned testing machines". The leakster doesn't know how the back will change, but his inside sources say that it will in some way, all I can say is "????"

If the Nokia 8 lives up to its rumored spec's I think the S8 phones will have serious competition on their hands. Especially for those who don't want Edge screens and do want a 16:9 aspect ratio.

the design of last year S7 edge was really amazing, it should be the same design but more thinner or bigger screen. but somehow the most important part of the phone for me is how it perform in day to day usage without encountering any issues, i like the design of the S7 edge but i will not speak something in advance without looking on it on the day it will release. samsung u should focus on smooth performance and 60fps gaming cuz most of a time we spend

Nothing wrong with the placement of that fingerprint scanner, it would actually be in an easier to reach position than the one on the LG G5.

RedSamurai, 01 Feb 2017As a user of S7E for almost a year now, there is nothing mo... morehave to agree with you for most of the part..using the edge screen without activating the back or mutlitasker button is difficult..and as such having the edge is only a style statement(i bought it exclusively for the extra .5 inches for movie marathons)..i am however pleasently surprised at the amount of rough use the curved screen can take up(in a thin case of course)

                    Is this the worst Galaxy?
Same camera, same design, same ram, worst battery and a stupid position for the fingerprint's reader

                    Good Job

I start to think that the position of finger scanner is wrong. If you hold a telephone in your left hand there is no way you can use it without breaking your finger. Or there will be left and right sided version.

If all things are equal, then the s8 will be approximately 148mm in overall length.

Know what? I don't think so that the speakers will be located below the phone, I am saying this way because A & J series are now changing this placement.

I'm not sure why people are so keen to predict the shape & dimensions of the phone from few leaks that could be fictitious after all. I prefer to wait a few weeks & see the real thing!
For example, I hate the fingerprint sensor's location but I'm not going to be mad right now because I've to wait and see. I hope this location is false and that they'll implement it under the screen as I personally wish.
I hope reported battery size is false as well and that they'll provide at least 4000. It's a shame that some mid-range phones can have hefty amount of juice while a Samsung flagship can't!!

And as far as I'm concerned, they happen a bit too often to be ignored; couple that with the over-sensitive bottom keys (back and tasks) and it can get quite annoying at times.

Coming from an S3 with CM12, I had very high hopes when I upgraded to the S7E. Little did I know (my mistake for not doing my homework) that my Exynos variant would lock me from AOSP and that I would be stuck with the improved-but-still-inferiorTouchWiz.

Overall, I've been impressed with the hardware (design and build quality) part but have been seriously disappointed by Samsung's software choices. Unless the big S shuffles things radically, it's very unlikely that my next phone would be an S8 but will probably get a shot at the OP4 if it keeps its promises.
