New Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus schematics come with precise dimensions

01 February 2017
The images confirm the 6.1-inch and 5.7-inch screen sizes and highlight how thin the remaining bezels actually are.

The dimensions of the s7 edge are 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm, and the dimensions for the s8 plus are 159.53 × 73.37mm. If the s8 plus is almost a centimetre longer than the s7 edge thats way to long so what was the point of reducing the bezels.

The dimensions seem completely false though. No way that the height of the screen is the same as the heght of the device in S8 for example.

Also I very much doubt that S8 plus will be higher than iphone plus. They promised to keep the devices compact. When you reach the iPhone plus size you're rapidly reaching the brick phase of a phone...

tonymancs, 01 Feb 2017You are mistaking screen diagonal and phone diagonal *sigh*According to the renders, the length of the s8 and the screen length is exactly the same at 131.58. Thats why im saying look carefully

Fingerprint sensor position seems awkward and no home button and front Samsung logo makes this just like another brandless Chinese phones. Samsung got everything wrong this time.

Look carefully at the measurements. The s8 is 131.58 in screen length and full phone length is also 131.58 which is not possible. The diagonal 143.05 over 1cm of the phones size.
The s8 plus is 142.34 in screen length and the full phone length is 159.53. The diagonal is 154.46. 5mm less than phones length. Something is wrong with this post.!!!!!

Position of fingerprint according to schematic picture is good but for Right hand Person! If GS8 comes with second model: position of fingerprint Left side main camera! It's very good and helpful for Left hands (my phone was/is always in my left hand)

There is an error with S8 (standart) height. According to screen measurement of both phones 18:9 ratio as stated before is correct (2.03:1 to be exact). If we look at S8+ the vertical benzel on each side will be 1.68mm, S8 1.55mm (in comparision, thick vertical benzel of HTC M8 measures 3.5mm, just the useless black part took 2mm). On S8+ will be 17.19mm for both horizontal benzels-roughly 9/8mm for upper and lower benzels (35mm for HTC M8, 15mm upper, 20 lower). Pretty impressive design-wise. Just fingerprint scanner location is really bad- still no responses from Samsung regarding leaks which mean this could be close to final. The source of this leak is from Mathew Kim, a senior Samsung engineer.

                  Wrong position of fingerprint sensor?
Maybe sammy want to force masses to use the iris scanner as a solution, and see it as valuable and useful feature ($$$)

The s8 dimensions are wrong. They replicated the scrren height as the device height.

These dimensions look suspect. The heights don't seem correct. I'm not liking the width of 73.37, because the media use 7 code, especially 777 as a means of coding a hoax or a lie. 73 is 7 x 3 for 777, and 37 is the same in reverse 777. The reverse is also one of their things. Samsung are just playing with everyone because they want to keep it as more of a surprise.

There's something wrong with the S8 dimensions, or that 18.5:9 aspect ratio can not be correct. By my calculations, a 131.58 height and screen diagonal of 5.7" at aspect ratio 18.5:9 gives the phone 1.389mm vertical bezels, which would even be small by the standards of horizontal bezels. Smallest horizontal bezels I've come across were Note 7's at +/- 3mm, although it would be 4mm if the Note 7's screen diagonal is 5.65" like some sources claim.

I'm guessing the S8 has a smaller screen than 5.7" if those dimensions are correct. At 5.4" and an aspect ratio of 17:9 (same as Mi Mix), it would have respectable 10mm x 4mm bezels. The S8 plus would need a 6.4" screen at an event taller aspect ratio to hit the same bezel size numbers, though, so maybe that's still a stretch.

With 6.1" screen is more tablet than a phone and it is impossible to operate one handed. Why??? Also the position of the fingerprint on the back is inconvenient. Better to use Sony position if front under the glass is impossible for current technology.
If this is final will not buy it. Major cons: too big screen and fingerprint position. Deal breaker for me.

I hope by the time the S9 rolls around the entire front is glass, would be quite a looker, and maybe the finger print sensor will be under the glass as well, the changes are looking nice for the S8, but I recently got and S7E and it'll be fine for a while, not gonna upgrade just because it's a new model..
