So now instead of buying the chargers, we will have to buy the Adapters to go from iphone/Galaxy Tab/mini-usb to a micro-USB. Apple aren't going to drop their port. and i can bet you they will cost an extortionate amount for the adapter

Ahmed, 11 Feb 2011A sneeky idea I've got is that phone manufacturers can stop... moreI am thinking as if places like hotels and airplanes can start to offer the plug as standard .
Sadly the company who first started to use the micro USB plug didn't receive any credit it truly deserves ....Motorola

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2011Every phone has different mA. Some 1,350 other 1,500mA, etc... moreYou are actually in a mistake. The figures you quote represent the battery capacity (mAh), while the chargers supply the current for slowly filling this capacity with a charging current of about 1000mA (500mA when charging off a USB port).
So essentially it's mA and mAh - tow different things.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2011Every phone has different mA. Some 1,350 other 1,500mA, etc... moreWhat you're talking about is mAh (eg. 1500mAh, which roughly tells you how much charge battery can hold). Higher mAh battery in general just mean that you would have to charge your phone a bit longer.
All chargers will have same voltage (5V couse of USB). Output current (mA) will probably vary a bit also (PC's USB manages 500mA, chargers usually output more).

The problem is because of a certain manufacturer who refuses to adhere to standards, adapters will be allowed. So manufacturers can keep their proprietary ports and just supply an adapter to micro USB.

A sneeky idea I've got is that phone manufacturers can stop including a charger in the box now because they'll know the customer would have a standard charger for other devices etc.! Could save them millions!

Gsmarena say the ad was gross. At first I thought they were exaggerating. After I say the video, I tottally agree... They could do something a lot better...
