Xiaomi Mi 5c photographed, it fits Snapdragon 625 inside a premium body

This lower-cost version comes late in the game, right before the Mi flagships move on to version 6.

leledumbo, 05 Feb 2017Nope, sd808 suffers the same overheating problem as sd810. ... moreI'm using Mi4c and it does not get heat so much , but I agree that most high-demanding games like real racing 3 and nfs no limits are often stressing to much the cpu/gpu and the A57 cores are getting off. A53 cores just can't keep up with the graphics making almost any 3d game lag. BUT I've found a solution, I've needed to root the phone and install kernel adiutor , after this I've unchecked the option to turn off the powerfull cores. Now phone is a bit warmer but it can play anygame at ultra. So yes , maybe 625 is better for a stock ( non rooted phone ) but s808 also has a much better gpu , better raw performance and even with 20 nm the battery life of xiaomi mi4c is freaking awsome. It lasts me one full day of heavy usage and most of time 1.5-2 days of normal usage.

AnonD-451592, 02 Feb 2017I like the fact that nobody noticed that the older mi4c had... moreNope, sd808 suffers the same overheating problem as sd810. When I was still using Mi 4c, a lot of users look for mods to turn the big cluster totally off, leaving only 4x A53 @1.4 GHz (20-nm). That certainly is not better than 8x A53 @2.0 GHz (14-nm). There is a custom kernel that manages the cores differently so overheating doesn't happen as frequently but that's more like a workaround rather than a fix, because the actual problem is at hardware level.

You can already buy a Mi 5 (Snap 820) 3/32GB new in a box here for €170 - 210, in some place. Saw 5 of those sold 1-2 weeks ago.

Maybe this is compact version of Mi5. There were some rumors of 4.6 inch or thereabouts phone from Xiaomi for some time now. That would be really sweet. That would also explain SoC and RAM, if those rumors were actually true.

Now day people need midranger with flagship class camera & its quality but no one seriously bring that to market. Sometime people buy flagship class with strong one of purpose to have great camera but for flagship class CPU they dont really need this, they pay high for probably they dont need because they have no choice.

So IMO: mid range chipset with midrange GPU plus rational battery size and flagship class camera and also rational price. That many people need and hope xiaomi/nokia/sony/huawei bring that soon.

I think Xiaomi should keep it up to just 5 model each year, a Redmi, a Redmi Note, a Mi Note, a Mi Max and a Mi (X). With two or three ram/rom variants each. Could add a Mix or other concept phone but that's it. And keep providing regular updates till hardware supporting them like they still do.
But this endless same model variants is becoming ridiculous and as they done it before, this can be one more model with updates only from time to time and bugs that will never get fixed.

Each has his own preferences. Instead of forcing the customer to purchase a particular thing, they're providing options to select which suits them better
