You can now double-tap to rewind or fast forward in the YouTube app

04 February 2017
The feature seems to be part of the latest app update on both Android and iOS and is now rolling out.

I don't even know what exactly they do in the updated version. They never explain the changelog for ages. That's why I don't update it and rarely used it.

The non stop issue and bug from youtube. "It will be ironed out in the next update". They said this same thing every time. Next after next and after next update it still buggy. And they will tell you they will iron it out in the next update. So tired of it I never update youtube app for 2 years.

No need full screen. working also in portrait mode. If keep on tapping, the video will Forward/Rewind 10 seconds for each tap. (after the second tap)

Very cool trick, thanks. On iOS, the update has version number 12.03 (which I already received on Feb 2, but didn't know about this)

Also, in portrait mode if the video time is displayed as a small bar only , then you can't just touch the bar to jump to required part of video(it was present before this update). Instead, you have to tap on the area of video to show the red bubble. Only then you can jump to required part...

Besides, the double tap feature also works in portrait mode.

Already had it for a week and it's really annoying. I sometimes want to see how long did I watch the video and press second time to get back to watching and accidentally skip it.
