Nokia doesn't have any device announcements for you tonight

13 February, 2011
Nokia didn't announce any new product at their press conference that took place tonight, pre-MWC. The CEO of the company, Stephen Elop, talked about the future of Nokia, what were the reasons behind...

Elop clever plan worked, Microsoft single handedly took over Nokia, it was so simple just go for Android, Nokia board members was completely idiots!

(Pun on the Way) Anyone notice the irony that Nokia is a Finnish company? (Pun Ended)

Now I was a huge Nokia fan until Friday. Now I'm just a semi-Nokia fan. I'm more of an Intel fan than Nokia now due to Meego. Nokia needs to get their act together and bring out that N9-01 that EVERYONE is waiting on. What kind of a company sees that every customer is begging them for a phone and doesn't see a profit that could be made? Nokia you better bring out some Meego this year and early this year at that because after Friday, I'm really starting to hate you.

But when I saw now latest news, everything fell into water...

Seems that Samsung is currently best choice (though I would really like to see MeeGo device with Intel Atom chip on it).

Great deal. But what's the use of deal if they were not introducing any new phones with WP7 OS.
Nokia may come up with exciting smartphones. If they once released their WP7 device, it's sure that HTC, LG, SE may put more effort in making Android devices. WP7 devices of these 3 gaints will take back seat. In my opinion, the deal is shock to these 3 & lot to HTC & SE and bit to LG(due to their 3D and dual core).
              Android will get more market.
The release of MeeGo before 2nd Quarter of this year is dream only.
May be Nokia giving an option to customer to select the OS.
Good luck Nokia. Move fast with Microsoft.

Mark my words, Nokia will lose most of their share this year. By 2013, Samsung will overtake them if Samsung keeps on developing top notch products.

Look at SE, they were going down the drain but they put their act together and fought hard to win back loyal customer base. Their products are highly competitive in the current market and this year is no different for them.

AnonD-1024, 15 Feb 2011Is mwc over?? Nokia wont be announcing any phone??Im certain its finishing off Today (the 16th) however Nokia is NOT announcing any phones.

                    Read this: http://www.gsmarena.com/mobile_world_congress_2011_as_it_unfolds-news-2329.php

It clearly states Nokia will not announce any phones at MWC like last year. If you do further research, the Meego has been given thumbs down by many analysts. Next up is Samsung on my list.

After trying few device with droid I found that basic communication feature are marginalized for example: most of call log on every device are not consistent some of them dosn't have capability to filter list, also without os upgrade your not able to send busines card over sms it will strike directly to mms at cost charge... for some reason most of the sync job to gmail account does not provide you with safety because you share to much info with google ??? why?
I'm not paranoic, but colecting that ammount of iformation from the people take the math, At the end we forget that the phone are only device or tool nothing else.

Nokia, almost game over. show what you got. NOW!!! (or never)

Nokia should come with something te very soonest. The reason is simple, the offer for high quality communication devices is hugh, gigantic, massive and immense. Just look at what competitors have to offer, for example, at the MWC 2011 in Barcelona.

Thus, why should consumers wait for Nokia? Even die hard Nokia fans cannot wait anymore. Why? Because they love high quality devices/smartphones and there is lots of it to choose from, NOW, at this very moment. A big negative point from Nokia is that they cannot give a specific date for introducing....just something.

I am very confident that Nokia will come with a range of new and competitive devices in the early second quarter of 2011. And if not, they sould come with a new, fresh and astonishing upgrade of its Symbian3 platform. Just to show what they can. Overall, it is important for Nokia to come up with ....something... very soon.

A lifeless Nokia is a hugh market for competitors,....even for big old Microsoft.

WOW! I am probably the most disappointed fan of Nokia. Reason being, I applied for a job there. I am withdrawing my application after this news. Its sad to say but the people up there are not thinking for the consumers down here.

MWC is considered the biggest event and Nokia did not have a single device to display. How can you expect to even stay in the "fight" while you can't keep your visions straight strategically. Symbian ^3, Symbian ^1, Meamo, and Meego. Keep abandoning them all and who knows when the ship is sinking further, they will disembark on WP7.

Nokia needs proper strategic management team and should stick to their plan for once, but it is too late now. The cycle of fad is halfway through and investing in such a cycle will only draw their market share and financial statements down the drain.

All I can say is "good luck" and I will never be purchasing any Nokia phones and personally would advise my family and friends to stay away from it.
