But I think because they have multiple variants, it won't affect international users much if we just buy the QC model. And to be fair, I've been using AOSP since my first Android that supported it, but my Xiaomi Mi 5 just runs better on MIUI than AOSP. Better speed, better battery life, better camera. And I use the dual sim and dual apps for my business and personal life now, so I don't care that much if future Xiaomi's have more restricted AOSP development, even though I admit it's nice to have that option and some people will always prefer it (I do miss it a bit).

And I'm actually not a ''failure in human being'' - but you should seriously start considering yourself as one :)

Xdadevet, 06 Feb 2017Best of luck to Xiaomi, hopefully they'll save enough on th... moreMy assumption is, they will release kernel source for their own SoC, BUT LIMITED to MIUI developer, as Xiaomi is known to locked their bootloader so that customers can't mess with the OS, unless something BAD happens (get buggy distributor ROM, etc).
This is also happen to HiSilicon, they did release kernel source of their SoC, BUT limited to internal OS developer only, to make (or force, exactly) customer use their official OS only, a different but similar approach of the way iphone, blackberry, & WP do their business.
As the way they are now, if Xiaomi can make a SoC on par with MediaTek in terms of performance & pricing, I believed they can become "the second coming of Huawei with a bit of bitten fruit taste"

Corporations and Large Businesses LOVE to front a separate company as a different entity but it's just a facade to mask real ownership.
This is to avoid filing cases of monopoly against them.

The Leadcore in Redmi 2A have much better performance in both CPU & GPU than what Snapdragon 400 & 410 offers, and the TBA Pinecone SoC that have YET to be benchmarked u call a FAILURE? Don't bother buying a phone then, dude, as MOST of the manufacturer have their phone MADE IN CHINA!

You must be the CRAZY ones if other people's IDEA which can be realized by themselves you called "crazy".
Look, IF u want to talk about CRAZY, first think of the 8cores phenomenon that happened since 2014 in mobile SoC, which many says CRAZY or ABSURD. Like most people say "The manufacturer must be crazy to make a 8cores SoC for a smartphone, we don't need it" BS.
In REALITY, now people accept the 8cores SoC, even makes is as a "must have" specs in their list when buying a new smartphone, even the new idol SD625 and SD835 have 8core, and many people are CRAZY to wait for its release.
The same APPLIES for 10-core SoC, they made such a SoC because they had done some research and the result is that 3-cluster CPU is more efficient (according to them) in both power consumption and performance. The efficient power consumption theory is still open to debate, as no other SoC makers made 10core ones, so we can't do a comparison, BUT the increase in performance is proven in Helio X20, which is on par (with more expensive SoC) with SD652 on both CPU & GPU.

This is also shows that u are one of the DUMB people that rates new thing as "normal", or "failure" even before it released.
Answer my question, when Qualcomm (Snapdragon), Samsung (Hummingbird), or HiSilicon (Kirin) first released their SoC, did they made an EXCELLENT performance SoC? Did they made a battery-efficient SoC? Did people not BASHING their SoC at first?

Best of luck to Xiaomi, hopefully they'll save enough on the SoCs to actually turn a profit. If they release kernel sources and their chips are comparable to Exynos/HiSilicon/Qualcomm/MediaTek then I'm looking forward to it.

Got to stop depending too much... moreI support his earlier comment, because this is an offshoot of whatever hanky panky game Samsung and Qualcomm are playing, by the Sammie to did this a while back when the Qualcomm chips etc were consuming too much power, over heating and sometimes delayed for phone production.

This can only be a good thing.
They should follow Huawei and make their own chips.
So optimization is better and so Qualcomm cant have monopoly.
