    Ew, that Photoshop...
Anyway, for people that don't understand why it was important that Korea had to do the investigation by themselves is that Samsung could've biased results in their favor, blaming another company or whatever but ultimately not fixing the problem. But it should've been another government than Korea...

johnnkennedy, 06 Feb 2017Who care's now, the phone is already dead now :(Everyone does, and you should too. There are a handful of battery manufacturers on the market. And the 3 main ones are Samsung, Panasonic and Sony. So the Note 7 battery fiasco affects your laptop as much as it does the Tesla Model S, and the new Panasonic Gigafactory in Nevada, and electric longboards, etc etc.
Effectively anything that uses batteries is affected by it. That's why it is important to find out what happened and take steps so that no-one else has the same problem.

On a personal note, li-ion tech is too dangerous. We should invest more in battery research. Sodium-Ion sounds like a good alternative, given proper advancements are made in rechargeability and capacity.

Samsung owns the Korean government. There are so many corruption scandals between Samsung and Korean government that the Korean government only issued Note 7 recall after Samsung announced the recall.

AnonD-625621, 06 Feb 2017Why is the south korean govt so emotional on this issue ? Samsung is a massive south korean company that contributes a considerable percentage to the countrie's economy. So its only natural that they would try and keep the company in check.
