This kind of sensor is created for real camera. Not for smartphone. Sony will place it into their camera products, not their xperias.

Trenton , 07 Feb 2017Are you still in the stone ages?? Mobile cameras today are ... moreSo i'm going to ignore your try to troll, and just going to go out on a limb and say that you're too dumb to understand how cameras work. So here, i'll give you a quick breakdown.
Small cameras and Smartphones - Since the year 2005, small sensors in compact cameras, and same being used in your smartphone by the way, have come to being pretty much noise-less from ISO100 to ISO160. 160 being a relatively large sensor in a compact camera such as Canon S120.
Large Cameras, DSLRs - A 35mm sensor in a typical DSLR, came from being noise-less at ISO800 in 2005, to being noise-less at ISO3800 in 2016.

Don't know about you, but that's exactly the opposite of "coming close".

It is obvious to everyone here, that your photography world revolves around 'point and shoot', and you couldn't begin to comprehend such concepts as depth of field, arpeture size vs flash power and shutter speed effects, just to name a few. I've seen people like you... You're one of those who takes an iPad out to take pictures, thinking that just because it looks good on that big screen, it takes a better picture than say an iPhone.

Trenton , 07 Feb 2017Are you still in the stone ages?? Mobile cameras today are ... moreNope.. Because phones are getting thinner thus phone camera sensor is getting smaller whilst maintaining quality.. The closest ever camera phone to a dslr is the Nokia 808.. That uses 1/1.2" sensor(almost 4 times the size of sensor used in iphone).. And it's got a huge hump.. The way smartphone industry is going the camera quality will pretty much plateau and more emphasis on post processing and add on effects.. You cannot overcome physics.. Never will a small size beat a larger shaft no matter how much skills you have

Don't get carried away with what those people said about your Z5's image quality. You can do lot more in a DSLR than in your mobile camera. Remember they will be more expensive compare to Xperia flagships, because the Sony will price the competitors with extra higher price to cover the exclusive offer to their own brand Xperia, and they will advantage to own brand in software developing.
