Hmm. Apple overpriced blah blah blah. Meanwhile most people here are samsung fanboys. Galaxy flagships cost more or less the same as an iphone in most western countries yet apple has it's own OS and CPU and support for 4+ years.
Of course an "anniversary" sort of limited edition model yould cost 100+ euros more. Relax. It's just a phone. Over a 2 year contract you barely notice the price difference.
Google pixel and iphones are more expensive for a reason. Google develops their OS, apple develops their OS and CPU. They have to be more expensive than Samsung who just manufactures components and stacks them up. People need to at least consider buying an iphone once just to be able to be objective in their criticism. I really don't get why people here love to hate apple giving no credit where credit's due and are always like "apple sheeps, expensive, horrible, no innovation, people who buy apple products are stupid, i would never buy apple". Seriously some people are brainwashed or feel like they should bash apple to belong in a group. It's just different ecosystem. Don't you get bored having android phones or windows computers for all your life?

How insane of the pricing! I Don't blame Apple or the CEO, I think the insane fans is to be blamed, $1000 can buy a premium tablet/laptop already.

Apple knows to it has to keep increasing it's prices to set it up as a luxury item. Many smartphone users buy iphones to show off some sought of real or fake status symbol. Increasing iphone prices are a necessity for the brand image, same like increasing hardware specs.

In case people forgot, you are not being forced to buy this phone. People can spend $1000 dollars however they want to.

It should at least be 2000$, I mean, it has a touchscreen! The version with a touchbar only will be cheaper, around 1900$. I love you Apple. So much innovation for so few $.

Some weaks latter you will get oneplus4 same hardware but Snapdragon 835 and better battery for half of that price, I hope apple goes out in flames, they never build tech hardware, they always build luxury decorations PC and notebook and jewellery phones. It's about time the apple sheep community learns that after Steve Jobs death apple became just another money driven company ruled by shareholders

iphone will have the Sony latest 3 stack camera sensor and will charge people more than $1000, if not, Sony will have the latest sensor for Xperias and iphone can only use out-dated sensor.

Sure, ios isn't for ever... moreThough the iPhone's build quality(Few Android Top Dogs matched it) is top notch, the only two things that Apple has to it's advantage over the equally priced Androids: iOS and its level of optimization. Without these what you get for the price it demands, actually it isn't worth. And regarding your "iOS isn't for everyone" jibe it's just a marketing term to brainwash people, nothing else. Apart from being smooth and simplicity, i find nothing in iOS to get excited about. Except few countries, everyone else gets a phone through carrier subsidy, so your "iOS/iPhone isn't for everyone" doesn't have value.

As usual Apple level of pricing. If a top end iPhone with an LCD almost costs 950 USD, then demanding 1000+ USD for rumored iPhone with an OLED screen, not surprising at all. For iFans, no price is steep and any price Apple demands, they are worthy. But still as with everyone, i too waiting to see what will Apple do for its 10th Anniversary iPhone, to replace my 6S.
