Xperia Z5 Premium's 4K display was a huge game changer and no other phone ever came close to that during its time, and even until now, except for the XZ. Samsung is always late in their game. By the time Sony had an IP58 rating for the Xperia Z, Samsung had IP67 for the S5 but still inferior to Sony, then Sony came up with an IP68 rating and the S5 was nowhere close. It even took Samsung 3 years to catch up, and still miserably fails sometimes compared to Sony's offering. By the time Sony had 3GB of RAM with the Z2, Samsung, and other competitors barely even offered 2GB of RAM to their flagships. It took them 2 years to catch up, and even their current higher 4 or 6GB of RAM is losing to Sony's 3GB of RAM optimization power. By the time the Xperia Z was made of high-quality metal and glass, Samsung had nothing to fight it with. S4 was made of cheap plastic materials. By the time Sony had a 20.7mp camera, Samsung was uncompetitive with a 16mp camera. DxOMark ranked Sony Xperia phones higher than Samsung during its time, and only caught up after 4 years. By the time Sony had 4K recording, Samsung phones even fail to record a good quality 1080p video. Xperia Z2 was untouched by the S5 in terms of video capability, and their SteadyShot that is still superior up to date was phenomenal and Samsung, again, NEVER COMPETED AT ALL. By the time Sony had a 4K display, Samsung got a weak 2K display, and VR experience wasn't worth it on Samsung. So let's play the predicting game. I predict that by the time Samsung had a 4K display, Sony will have 8K display already. If it comes out true, you'll be deleting your GSMArena account here. The JDI making the full test to ensure the technology is ready in market and it is a safe step, the Japanese's JDI don't like the Korean's SDI making the faulty battery and burn-in display and rush to release in market as soon as possible and skip the quality control.

And don't blagging about the 4K video record on Samsung flagships or iphone, they will also heat up like Hell, just they don't show the limit/message to warn you to take care of your device.

Cant remember when the last time sony get hype like Samsung (S6-S7), Xiaomi (mi 5 - mi mix), Asus (Zenfone AR), Nokia (Nokia 6). Hope they survive for this year, dont be like old BB.

If even Motorola can make a phone that can record in 4K without issues, every company should be able to do the same. Make the phones thicker and ditch the idiotic glass-body as it obviously doesn't work in order to MAKE THE PHONES ACTUALLY WORK. Is this too much to ask? Yeah, it's not.
