Also, I don't live in North Korea, luckily. Nice one, though.

huge success with hardware but honestly very modest with software. still can't accept Touchwiz as a successful user interface, the edge thing is part of cosmetic process, and now they invented Bixby. May God be with Samsung fans ...

Why can't smartphone manufacturers stick with ONE operating system (Android) and ONE assistant!?

Not even 4 year old in fact. 2 month old, except very, very specialised (but still 2 month old). Silicon computers are very bad in handling imprecise big data, they're build for precise small data. We need a new kind of computers to get strong AI.
That computer we may never build , or build in 1000 years. A bit of how ancient Greeks had steam machines but the industrial revolution happened 1800 years after them. On AI, we're like ancient Greeks , very primitive. Disregard the noise and the hype, it's nothing special, we don't even have the right tools at hand.

what a load of junk is this Samsung s voice!
I have had Samsung smartphones for the past 5 years! ranging from original Galaxy S to my S6! and the most useless part of the Samsung eco system is it's highly incapable S voice!
I was able to ignore that till now that it'll get a physical button on the side! that sais I hope the do a hell of a lot better job this time or at least make I the button programmable so I can make that google assistants' button! which would be a very wise move from Samsung!

Well said.
ALL things that pretended AI so far were nothing, but a search engines, matching a query on user input.
It's all gimmick and until proven otherwise, by for example you're being able to ask the AI to call your doctor and schedule an appointment or write you an essay upon brief description.
So much for the "AI", that doesn't exist.

Jarvis is science fiction and not possible through silicon computers, never will be, silicon's computing limitations are way below Jarvis's level. Like any industry computing has its limits and right on cue we're reaching it (60 years for aeronautics before starting its diminishing returns era, same with microcomputers, 2020s would be the 60 year mark).
Maybe we'd have quantum comuting or bilogical computing revolution in the future. But we're not even at the start of those eras, so no reason to expect any AI that would be useful like Jarvis is. Bixby, like Siri, is a gimmick.

I doubt you guys use any type of AI in your smartphone either, yet many of you complaining as if you had used AI for so many years. I dont expect Bixby to be like JARVIS from Ironman anyway. Bixby not gonna save the world and catch bad guys. You all have over expectation.

...And it's already gonna be horrible. I never used my S5's S-Voice, because it was so bad, and on my Gear S2, it hasn't gotten any better. It's like they rushed to get it onto the S3, and just left it there

If it's an upgraded version of S-Voice that can be rival with other AI, then it's all good. Wouldn't use it tho. But the camera-based visual search capabilities seems tempting.

Zenodroid, 10 Feb 2017S voice went horrible after 5.0 and now I have deactivated ... moreHehe, LOL! S Voice was one of the first things that many people used to disable when they brought a Galaxy. For that matter, virtual assistants in general seems to be ignored by the masses. The only place we see them being used extensively is on advertisements.
But because of Alexa's success, now everybody is jumping onto the "Intelligent Assistant" train.....

If it was not for news sites nobody would talk about bixby. Nobody cares about another assistant. It's as exciting as the bing search engine. I mean 1 in 10 may prefer it, but 9 out of 10 would prefer the expert on the field...

S voice went horrible after 5.0 and now I have deactivated it on my s7 and gear s3. Tasker works better for the voice commands.
