Samsung has shown that a QHD phone doesn't have to be a battery drainer at all since two years ago with the note 4. All their flagships thereafter have lived up to the standard the note 4 has set regarding high resolution coupled with uncompromised battery life. And the difference is visible. Only people who don't want to look wrong insist their isn't one. Laughable.

AnonD-523334, 12 Feb 2017I voted for 1080p. But no other resolution is as meaningles... moreI can tell the difference between fhd and qhd. Can't between 720p and fhd generally. There's also that I prefer larger screens. Once I went 5.7" I don't want to go any lower. QHD is also a must if using pentile OLED. People always say they can't tell the difference but when they see it side by side with mine they all of a sudden see it.

Anything above FHD (1080) is nothing but a battery and performance drainer unless you are a heavy VR user. But since the VRs today are still in their infancy, I'm gonna pass QHD and above.
Sony's VR on PlayStation is years ahead of the mobile VRs by the way.
Instead of giving us only the option to change the screen resolution (which I like), they should also give us the ability to change the screen DPI. On my Sony (FHD), the default DPI is 480. I've changed it to 300 (works only if you're rooted) and my phone turned into a phablet!
Everything gets realigned and the space is better used, giving you the ability to see more and it also looks a lot better!
These are the screenshots with 480 and 300 DPI, both with normal font size:

After changing it to 300, I hate using a default 480 phone :)

This poll should be asking pixel density, not screen resolution

I voted for 1080p. But no other resolution is as meaningless as QHD. 720p - ok if you are compact phone lover (under 5") and also resource efficient. 1080p - "more than enough" /enough for screens 5"- 6".
2160p - necessary for VR (I'm not into VR for now)
QHD - neither for VR, nor for regular use. Waste of resources.

- It all depends.

It all depends on the size of the display!!!!! If you have a under 5" display you only need 720p and 1080p is more than enough for that size. If you go up from 5.2" you can still do well with 1080p if you don't watch VR. But that is only up to around 5.5". Thats the point where you would be needing QHD. Heck a 5" phone with QHD is enough for good VR no need for 4K there. Only phones with more than 5.5" realy need the 4K for VR.

This poll is bullshit, cause it depends on the screen-diameter. If you have a screen with 5", 1080p is absolutely okay. But on a 6" screen i'd prefere 1440p. Below 5" 720p is fine.
