The only thing that will make me buy this phone is if it has more than 326 ppi screen. Aarrrgghhh!!! That is so 2010-ish.

With the oleds bought from Samsung and wireless charging on this Iphone 8 (or 7S) Apple could break out of the midrange category it was stuck in for years. They have a minuscule chance, but it's just a dream.
Though I absolutely doubt they could catch up with Samsung in design. That should take years for Apple. They also won't be able to improve their screen to body ratio.
So maybe they could make it to the upper midrange at the end of the year, but by that time the competition will also evolve, so I'm very sceptic about that so eagerly desired breakout from midrange. Of course prices will remain high-end. (Like a Vertu: mediocrity for insane pricing)
The Samsung S7 Edge will still be miles ahead.

I hope manufacturers will stop this discrimination among different size variants of the same flagship. They shouldn't skimp on any features with the smaller variant. The only difference should be screen size and an appropriate battery.

If you're a Plus user, grow a pair and seriously demand for an above 3000mAh (preferably 4000mAh) battery and whatever form of a working fast charging then you're all set. Wireless charging is a gimmick that can never offset a shitty small battery no matter what.
For the money spent people deserve a proper multi day operating phone at that size.

Why must only the iPhone "Anniversary Edition" have amoled screen with glass back and wireless charging? Why can't all iPhone 8 have all the features? Why must we pay so much money for a new iPhone,which is a premium priced device,only for there to be a "special" version to be available. But this ain't even my gripe with iPhone....It's that aweful iOS software which makes the iPhone a difficult phone to use. Limitations to file transfers and other restrictions make the iPhone just not appealing for me. Thank goodness for Android.

From my perspective, the issue is NOT that it will cost USD 1000, or even USD 2000. I would still buy it, IF it was the best.
Since it is not (especially due to their walled-up and illogical iOS), no more iPhones for me.

A... moreBTW I am anti TouchWiz, anti vanilla android, amoled lover, 1080p 5" lover, 8mm+ ok, but battery big, no glass only metal, water resistant die hard, OK with camera blugs, OK with sealed batteries, don't care about wireless charging and hate curved screen, love MIUI, Love small bezels but also ok with big bezels if put to good use like bigger battery and better speakers.
