Don't understand you, guys. last year was all about galaxy-iphone4 war, so it was obvious that one of them will win. i have a Samsung, i prefer Android to IOS and all its limitations, but it's a long way from here to whining about iphone winning the award. it is a good phone, one of the best, in the end it's a matter of choice and test. so stop complaining and criticising. is not as a chinese rubbish fake won. and this award doesn't make it any better as it already is. same, the galaxy is the same piece of fine equipament as befeore, regardless the fact that iti did not get the award. chill.

Lets be honest...iphone is just simple n have my customers really dont care whats under the hood and what it can do when rooted , jailbroken ect! The iphone has an outstanding rep for just working. I have a bb i have used symbian (n97 worst phone ive ever had), i had a g1 and i have an iphone 4! Love my iphone love the apps. 3rd yr uni student no time to root n customise just want to use my iphone to controle keynote on my mb pro n use it for itunes. Its an amazing phone u ppl just hate em cz loads of ppl love em n its doesnt do what YOU want it to. Thats what andriod is there for ...so ppl who wanna customise can ...and ios is for ppl who just dont care. The moral is that there is a phone for everyone and an os for everyone. Btw my iphone doesnt drop calls (o2 uk) n neither does my gf (orange uk). Maybe its att horrible network giving iphone a bad name?

[deleted post]i don't hate it, not at all. i just say it really is not the best phone out there. oh, and i meant the n810, and the design is extremely similar, some details vary a bit but... i even think there's an copyright charge against apple, although i'm not sure.
but seriously? the only arguments that come from iphone fanboys is:
you've never used one. you don't get it. you need glasses(!?)). you can't afford one (seriously? i said it's not WORTH it, not that i can't afford one).
really, those arguments are extremely lame. they are under the belt, and they don't say shit. it's actually very similar to when religious people argument against atheists. there's no power in the arguments, they're empty. and sure, the iphone IS A GOOD PHONE. but it's not the best. it's got good features, but also a lot of flaws.

Iphone4 can ru... morei do know what i'm talking about, and that's the lamest argument ever. besides, you could only come up with answers to about half the points i made. and i didn't take up that many negatives either. i didn't take up the lousy auto-correct function when text messaging for example; that's something a lot of my iphone-using friends complain about all the time.
don't get me wrong,i don't see the iphone as a bad phone. i just don't think it's the best phone out there, it most certainly is not. it's a good phone yes, but it should be priced like 100-200 dollars lower, because it's really overpriced.

Very easily, i thought i would miss flash but no, i like ultrasmooth web experience and also most of important video sites work nowdays with iphone without flash.
6. its got a bad movie player
what you mean by that? i use vlc, its very good like on computer!
7. you have to pay to get ringtones that doesn't sound like crap

10. multitasking solution really sucks
works me perfectly nothing bad to say about that.
12. no file transfer via bluetooth
never needed, i send files with dropbox (cloud service) awesome!
18. last but not least, it's not the goodest looking phone out there, it's actually darn ugly!
I think it's the best looking device on market, keep it simple those little details makes it looking good.

The ... moreHave used it and it took all my curiosity and excitement just to find out that it's not that fun until you jailbreak it, there's nothing much. But I gotta say I really love the retina display and the looks and that's about it. Android has it all and will never have to jailbreak. I can buy apps but who can say no for something free and as good or maybe even better than the ones you have to purchase.

The ... moreNot for too long mate... gotta say 10/10 for the looks and resolution but HW specs wise, accessibility and free apps, thumbs down. Multi-cores are about to be realeased or may have already been released which makes iPhone4 an instant obsolete. Not sure if you're concerned about all this but hey, this is what's running every system after all not the unibody and definitely not the material it's made of.

4. html5 sucks and will suck for at least another 10 years
5. UI is too limited, needs jailbreak to be able do something useful
6. its got a bad movie player
7. you have to pay to get ringtones that doesn't sound like crap
8. inadequate security measures with itunes, lots of hacked accounts.
9. the iphone is also very easy to hack in to

11. the UI is messy, no order, and you can't customize it for own purposes

16. the extremely unnecessary mini-sim!?
17. with better hardware and full flash-support, apps won't be needed. everything is available on the internet, so the app advantage isn't that great, really.
18. last but not least, it's not the goodest looking phone out there, it's actually darn ugly! and it's almost a straight copy of the nokia n800 from 2007 . besides the design makes the screen break more easily.
And well, no, i've never owned an iphone myself, but i have indeed used them a lot. both 2, 3g, 3gs, 4 and ipad.

iPhone will continue to be the best phone simply because of the rich ecosystem that it is linked to. with it, you get to do so much with the phone more than its hardware features.

I'm glad they awarded iphone4 the best mobile device, because whilst it is a great mobile device, it's actually not that great as a phone.
And before you label me an iHater, I'll clarify.
I'll dare to say that most of the latest smartphones are not very good phones because their battery life is poor. Quite often they have poor signal reception, some like the iphone due to the fundamental design flaw in their antennas, but partly due to the public's requirement for them to be solidly wrapped in metal! Also, with many smartphones being fitted with Wifi, bluetooth, gps, an FM radio, it's very hard to isolate the different radio sections, which causes a whole range of problems.
This is why I carry a smartphone as well as one of the cheapest Nokia candybar phones around, the latter is usually switched off, but even when on has a standby time of well over a week!
