Danny1911, 18 Feb 2011If Nokia will partner with Google, then they will Lead the ... moreAnd who's offsetting the costs for the free E7 phone? - I smell Microsoft money. Forgive the language but this is all bulls**t. Elop took over in October and introduced the deliberately confusing nomenclature: C6 -00, C6 --01, C3, C3 Touch & Type. Quite a number of people ended up buying the wrong phones as a result of this foolish act. With the Microsoft partnership, I suspect it was all part of a corporate conspiracy to weaken Nokia so Microsoft can buy them for cheap later on. Their share price has been taking a beating ever since they announced the partnership last week. The just concluded MWC proves it all, They announced no new devices. Where's the E7? -- Another colossal waste of millions of dollars. I wonder why Nokia bothered to make an appearance at MWC.

What about Meego? :( I am a satisfied Symbian user but have been looking at Android for some time now until the N900 with Maemo caught my eye. I was really looking forward to Meego but now what? Where do I go? Android or Bada? Definitely not WP7.

Z, 18 Feb 2011Developer for a dead OS (E7). A proffession with future. ... moreActually it's probably still more profitable to be a Symbian developer then Android developer. Just just these numbers: http://mynokiablog.com/2011/02/17/ovi-store-higher-revenues-than-android-market/

If Nokia will partner with Google, then they will Lead the Smartphone Market, because Android OS will lead in the next few years the Smartphone OS Market !
PS: Nokia do not forget who you were, you were the leader of the Mobile Device Market with your Powerful (at that time) Symbian OS, now your Symbian OS is incomparable to Android OS which in 3 years managed to reach 33% of the Smartphone OS Market & the percentage will continue to grow fast, so please think about your Future Development of your devices with Symbian OS.. your chances with Symbian OS are getting lower & lower.. I'm sorry, I was a Nokia User & I was happy, now I'm an HTC HD2 Owner with the Android OS on it & I realise how great is Android OS compared to the Symbian OS, Android has a lot of very good features compared to Symbian, from the point of view of Apps, Games, & even the UI & GUI !

Developer for an OS that holds less than 3% of the market and never had more than 15%... hmmm.

So Nokia decided to invest a very small amount of money they got from Microsoft in order to try to prevent developers from going for iOS or Android.
They give E7
(Nokia's message: this is what you developed for - HAHA, what a waste of time - we give it for free now) and
new WP7/7.5/8 phone when it becomes available
(Nokia's message: if you were thinking about switching on something more reliable than us - don't think about it - we'll pay you ~200 Euro and tell you it's a present so that you don't think we're trying to buy your right to choose for a few Euro) :P

It will be very stupid for anyone to buy any Nokia smartphone, as the development support for Symbian^3 devices is questionable from now on. May see Nokia sales dropping drastically for 2011 to 2012, my prediction at lease 50%.
