Same like their cpus which just got a quadcore in the iPhone 7 but does alot better than any other cpu in benchmarks as well as real world usage

Guys arguing about GPU, no matter what gaming or VR application, it is better to get a somewhat slower but more sustainable one. The A10 Fusion throttles, when even Pokémon Go slows down significantly within minutes. I would much prefer a few cores less that could consistently sustain 30-40fps rather than a GPU pushing 60fps for a minute or two and then jumping between 20-60fps. The jump to 10nm in my head was to make performance more sustainable and at lower power draws rather than get a performance increase. I know it is less marketable though, but in reality not getting the "your gear vr device needs to cool down" and slowdowns in VR are much less desirable than a GPU that pushes a few frames less initially but manages to sustain them providing a consistent experience. Only from that point on we can think about increasing performance. At this point, performance on phones is not sustainable for longer than a minute or two. It might make sense for a CPU turbo mode in burst workloads, but nothing else.

if I were to choose between Apple's A series, Samsung's Exynos, Snapdragon and MediaTek Helio, I'd take Exynos and Helio, not a Samsung fan but Exynos is my pick with MTK Helio, I do heavy gaming and mostly editing, i'll just leave it like that for your judgement

Though I don't believe they will use a 1GHZ clock. And they are rumored to use 20 cores not 24.

1GHz = 650MHz = T880 MP12 = 75% of 16 Cores = 14nm
772MHz Max = 772MHz = T760 MP08 = 50% of 16 Cores = 14nm
850MHz Max = 850MHz = G71 MP24 = 75% of 32 Cores = 10nm
-------------------------------------
As Shaders are counted and works as graphic processing in ARM Mali GPUs, we can find some points:
1- Mali-T760MP6 in Note 4 in 28nm chip, performed 142 GFLOPS which means each core's share was 23.6 GFLOPS.
2- Mali-T760MP8 in Note5 in 14nm chip, performed 210 GFLOPS which means each core's share was 26.2 GFOLPS.
" Ability to set 2 more shader cores and higher frequency with less heat, was the Goal of 14nm. "
3- Mali-T880MP4 in Honor Note 8 in 16nm chip, performs 122 GFLOPS, which means each core's share was 30.5 GFLOPS.
4- Mali-T880MP12 in S7 edge in 14nm chip, performs 265 GFLOPS which means each core's share was 22 GFLOPS.
T880 frequency in Galaxy S7 edge peaked at 650MHz
T880 Frequency in Honor Note 8 peaked at 900MHz
"It shows that higher the frequency, More Raw performance"
"It also shows that more core with lower frequency can collect more resource to do tasks along less heat issue."
5- Each Core in last year's Mali GPUs can perform, 33 MFLOPS per 1 MHz per 1 Core
6- Mali-G71MP8 in Mate 9 in 16nm chip by 1GHz frequency, performs 282 GFLOPS which means each core's share was 35 GFLOPS.
7- Each Core in last year's Mali GPUs can perform, 35 MFLOPS per 1 MHz per 1 Core
If performance of each 1MHz improves further by using 10nm advantages, then Exynos using Mali-G71 is capable to be
( Mali-G71MP24 1.0GHz )
And if Each core performs 35 GFLOPS, then total Raw performance will reach +800 GFLOPS that is half of XBOX ONE.
-Architecture is 10nm = Less overall heat & More overall performance.
-Higher Frequency +1GHz = More process in less time.
-More Shader cores = More versatile processing for further graphically complex applications.
-Max. 32 possible cores:
Exynos from arrival of 14nm, designes for 50% of all possible cores of Mali-T760 (MP8). When ARM improved Mali's power usage, Exynos used 75% of all possible cores in 14nm with lower frequency.
S7 Real time performance with 650MHz and newer technology was 60% better than S6 Real time Performance with 772MHz.
Mate 9 Real time performance with 1GHz, Latest Technology and 8 Cores, Performed Twice the Mali-T760 MP8 772MHz.
