AnonD-635145, 21 Feb 2017You've not met my wife. She MUST have a screen protector on... moreScreen protectors are a must-have. And not only for clumsy people. And most screen protectors protect phone screens from scratches, not from drops. If you want a crack protection from drops, get a decent case with soft (rubber?) edges, but not silicone ones that will simply transfer the drop energy back to phone. I bought my wife Galaxy S7 and a UAG case - just for peace of mind. Not that its bulletproof or anything, but we'll worry less about drops now. Also put on a film screen protector since its impossible to get a decent tempered glass screen protector for S7 in my country (shipping costs 3 times more than protector itself and delivery time is no less than 2 weeks - way too long).

AMOLED screen is guaranteed, but the screen isn't my top priority when picking phones. Iris Scanner isn't so important but I believe they might surprised us with something similar with that. And, I prefer front fingerprint sensor than the back fingerprint sensor.

Like I said bezels are a thing of the past ... stop being so attached to it. Ideally future phones would be bezeless in all 3 sides only allowing a sliver of bezel for the front facing camera and that's it. That way we would keep phone's size manageable all the while equipping them with gigantic screens.

"I'm not $900+ for a fragile device." That is a strange kind of logic. If something is more expensive, wouldn't you be more careful with it? If you want to throw your phone around, get a cheap and sturdy one.

Owned an S6 edge and switched to a regular S6 after a while and much preferred it. It was just overall less awkward to hold/type on, screen didn't get bumped accidentally every so often and had no issues with screen protectors. Things like 'apps edge' really don't offer extra worthwhile functionality imo (never found myself using the edge features after first few days on the s6E either for this reason).
If this is legit, it's a shame there'll be no normal flat screen model.
