WP7 update for Samsung phones halted due to performance issues

23 February, 2011
It doesn't matter how minor an update is, something may always go wrong. On Monday Microsoft released the first update for their WP7 OS and today they are starting to pull it out due to bricking issues on some...

This is a sabotage to Samsung! Obviously planned by the MS + Nokia alliance to make way for the Nokia Phone 7 devices.

Excellent strategy..

[deleted post]Vista's fault was universal. Whatever pc or laptop it was installed on showed problems with vista but in this case all the bricking stuff is happening only with samsuck phones. If this was microsoft's fault than why HTC or LG phones r running smoothely without any problems ? Why only samsuck phones r bricking ?
Do u have any answer ? I bet u don't. Be logical before saying anything.
Samsuck just keeps sucking like always.

stop blaming samsung as i know for sure that microsoft always has something buggy for every update at least from the aspect of computer. in case u don't know, microsoft wp7 os is uneditable, which means, the os is as direct as from microsoft. i am a tech guy and for every ms update even win 7 at two or three systems are always brought to our side and believe it or not, they are most times hp. pls does that mean hp makes terrible laptops. pls think twice before posting as i know it's a perfect bug from microsft malfunctioning with some drivers.

This is for those trolls who r blaming microsoft for this problem -> Update is still available for HTC & LG.
It has been pulled out only for samsuck phones. Link -
            http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/23/microsoft-pulls-windows-phone-7-update-from-samsung-phones-until/

HTC & LG phones r running super fine after the update process. So, microsoft can't be blamed for bricking of samsuck phones.
It's only a problem with samsuck phones. Samsuck just keeps sucking more & more with their crappy hardware & software integration. Think twice before buying any samsuck device in future.

The problem is ONLY with Samsung phones. That's not Microsoft fault, that's just Samsung bad hardware, Samsung is a crap and you are blind if you don't know that. They should stay with their stupid phones on the overated Android realm. Don't fault Microsoft for Samsung problems.

There's always an android phone near by. Leave this junk to people with cash to burn. Let them be the beta testers, give WP7 another year to fully mature. And no don't go back to Symbian coz it suffers from similar effects funny how Nokia and Microsoft are now shagging "THE IRONY"

I think this has to do with the fact that Microsoft treats the os as one and some devices get overlooked in the process of making updates.

At least it's better than android that has to tailor each update for each phone, which takes a lot longer.

If MS gets this way of updating working, then WP7 users will see faster update rates than android.

and i had my hopes for wp7. android boring, iphone not interested, symbian from stone era, and now wp7 even the updates make problems. i guess my nest phone is a simple one that batery last for a week and only has calls and sms (like a new version of nokia 1600 if there is one). every couple of years i get obred of smart phones and get back to the low range of phones that have no problems, work fine and longtime, are cheeap and still do their job. this time it might be for good.

                                        Hi all,
Just to share with you that I did the update process on my HTC HD7, though it lasts about thirty minutes, my phone is still working perfectly...
Do you guys wonder how come the issue is only faced with Samsung WP7?
My guess is that the issue is not only from Microsoft, maybe not at all, but also from Samsung, maybe only from Samsung, wait and see ;)
If the root cause was from Microsoft, what did HTC to prevent this big issue? Are they better than Samsung to handle hardware/software?
                                        ;)
