This person was genuinely trying to build the world's biggest startup. He was about to take over the entire mobile market. But he lacked the capability to FIGHT. First nobody let him run his company. He was bombarded with all kind of cases and enquiries. Every department of the government ran after him. All the suppliers everybody made in look like a thief.
These kind of practices have made India backward country. When innovators like him are made to look like thieves and Crooks, anybody who is trying to think out of the box again fall back to old ways.

GSMArena Staff: I would like to share how I was frauded by this company.... Please lend an eye.
After initial failure of Ringing Bells to deliver Freedom 251 at Indian Rupees 251 ($4), the company posted a video "Our Truth" on their Facebook page, which stated that they planned to fund the mobile by creators of apps like Ola, Uber, Cafe Coffee Day, etc by [reinstalling their apps.... But the media disreputed them and the partners backed away.
They they had another offer, get a silver discount Card @ Rs. 550, and get Freedom 251 free. Thinking of it as a good offer for my servants, I took their money for the phone and placed an order, by Cash on Delivery (COD).
What came instead was an envelope with a silver card, and a letter that said that we will deliver your Freedom 251 by 31, December 2016. We had an option to reject COD, but my dad was naive and he accepted it while I was at work, and he paid Rs. 550.
As expected, the phone never came and their website/ helpline/ FB page, etc all went dead...
So, its a lesson to me that if its too good to be true, its probably lies. I had to bear this little amount on part of my servants though, because I guided them towards this. Not needing my money back now, but what about the thousands or maybe lacs of Indians who were frauded by this "Group".

Morality: The one that threatens you to death is a fraud. And that the only real cheap phones are Nokia feature phones and Microsoft Lumia.
