Thnx a tonne Abhi for ur first hand review... its helped me a lot to clear out my doubts.. One last thing... Dude i request you to confirm whether the 4GB internal memory can be used to install apps?? i mean m heard that 4GB on this phone equals 2GB Internal memory + 2GB SD card Memory. Or is it total of 4GB internal memory which can be used to install Android apps....Pls confirm on dis..Thnx again...

Yes it has about 1.86 GB of ROM as it mentioned and another 2GB of internal SD..along with 478MB RAM available for user.
So far so great.Good bet for the price.

@dmrt the battery backup is great.It lasts me arnd 1.5 days with moderate usage and 1day with heavy usage including surfing,watching videos & gaming.

@Galaxy ace How can u say that it is slower than the galaxy s 9000?Have u used both the devices just reading some specs is not enough for comparison.Do u want to see how the galaxy s 9003 outperforms the predecessor?Wait for some time i will soon upload the benchmark pics.
@Tj First clear your concepts, the screen used in desire hd is different its super lcd not the super clear lcd used in this gem(Galaxy s 9003) and the screen of desire hd is nothing if compared to the screen of this device.

And the name of this device is not Galaxy Sl,atleast not in india.Its name is Galaxy S-Gt-i9003.The phone also has a great battery backup,Thanks to the 1650 mah battery.

I baught it for rs 20000 before it entered the market.You all can get one in a couple of days as the distributors throughout india have started receiving the phone from the companies.The street price of the phone will be around rs 19500 maybe a hundred bucks dearer if u know where to get it.Now speaking abt the phone,yes it has flash 10.1 and a better processor than the galaxy s 9000.I ran quadrant benchmark the very first minute after purchasing it, and guys it outperformed its predecessor with quite a margin.To all u people who were eagerly waiting for this handset, i should tell u that this handset wont let u down in any aspect.After using both the amoled and the sclcd one,I can say that both the handsets perform equally good, but considering the mouth watering price of galaxy s 9003 and the faster processor under its hood, 9003 gets my vote.And ya its an iphone4 killer.Stay tuned for the gingerbread update.Thumbs up to open source.

... moreeverything u said about the phones is right except for 2.. the processor on this is much better than on N8.. its 600 MHz arm 11 processor on N8, which u wud easily find on a mid range Android.. Galaxy Sl has a far superior one.. though its a little less powerful than the original S.. But it doesn't make much of a difference until u have to play some graphics heavy 3d games..
and RAM.. its same on both the phones i.e. 512MB, but actually there is around 380MB of it which can be used to run apps on the S and 480MB on SL.. So SL has arnd 100MB more usable RAM than S..

Samsung I9003 is a downgraded model of the original Samsung Galaxy S,there are many many key point difference between them.
*Samsung Galaxy S==Rs 27,600{at launch time}
*Samsung I9003 ==Rs 19,500{at launch time}
But you should know why the less price
*Samsung Galaxy S==Super Amoled Screen{brightest & best screen technology}
*Samsung I9003==Simple lcd screen as found on HTC Desire HD,super clear lcd
*Samsung Galaxy S==CPU--1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, Hummingbird chipset
*Samsung I9003=CPU--1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, PowerVR SGX530 GPU, TI OMAP 3630 chipset

Another huge huge difference is---------

*Samsung I9003 ==4 GB internal Memory{yes not 16 GB but 4 GB}
So when you will see these comparisons you will know how they have been able to keep its price under Rs 20,000.Most probably you need to buy an extra memory card for Samsung I9003.

I got myself a new galaxy s 9003.I am among the first ones to get my hands on one in india.This is the first review of the handset.I want to make it very clear to all of u who r crazy for the amoleds,that there is a slight difference between the sclcds and the amoleds,Amoleds has the capability of showing deeper blacks whereas sclcds are more bright,sclcds also have a longer life span,after using both amoled and sclcds I would say that they r equally good.I earlier also had a glaxy s 9000 which i later sold off,that handset suffered from a burnin.The new galaxy s has 4gb of space.Technically speaking that this 4gb is not phone memory.This 4gb comprises of 2gb of phone memory and 2gb of built in memory card.The new handset has a faster processor than its predecessor and a slightly less capable gpu.Both the handsets r nearly equal in every aspect.But the price of the new galaxy s 9003 makes it a clear winner.Good going Samsung!

This is not a downgraded phone at all.. samsung was not able to meet the demand for galaxy S. By the way dont think this phone is inferior to galaxy S. Please read the reviews from phonedog or engadget. SC-LCD is a very good option. Please visit a store and try galaxy S and galaxy SL side by side. I can assure you in no way you can find out the difference... and going with galaxy SL means you have a chance to get it upgraded to ginger bread soon since its a new phone launched... processor and other specs are almost the same as Droid X; which is one of the best selling phones ...
