iphone SE is a NOSTALGIA phone. similar with Nokia 3310. In my research about the most wanted smartphone in one of the biggest smartphone mall in my country, VERY FEW seller sold SE, while there are FEW iphone 6 sold. BECAUSE OF BIGGER DISPLAY (well, FEW, as most of the seller (90%) said people ALWAYS asked about cheap mid-range Android phones with >5inch display, sometimes WP).
Ur suggestion of "to produce small handy smartphone screen if they could" is DUMB, as I stated before, PEOPLE WANTS BIG DISPLAY as it is more productive than

Palm realized it a LONG TIME AGO, and ALWAYS equipped their devices with more than 3inch touch screen display (BIG enough for early 2000s). Later, Apple uses the same idea as Palm, Nokia with their Communicator series, and later Android.
Logically, any phone makers CAN make a phone compact enough with 5inch display, just make a phone without any physical or capasitive button, with small bezel in all 4 sides of the screen, a 140mm length phone can be made (LG G6 even can squeeze 5.7inch!), but when doing so, SOME problems will occur, such as uncomfortable and so on.
I don't own a phone manufacturing company, but once I had visit a local phone manufacturing factory & talk to its owner. He said, when their company making Android phones, they need to see the TREND in the market. In 2010-2012, < 5inch phone are still okay for US$200 and more, BUT 2013 until now,

It is a suggestion by the way to manufacturer not to you.

Hmm, I appreciate that HMD has relaunched Nokia on the right foot. The hardware design looks high-class & the Android software looks as stock as the Pixel smartphones. Great start!

That's cuz no one like small display on android phones (except u)!
Small display made mistyping occurs often as the keyboard's key is too small for our finger, especially European who have bigger hands & fingers than Asians.
I have a 4.5 inch Android phone & I hate it very much as it always takes a long time to type a single message cuz of mistype. 5inch phone with small build is the ideal, as the keyboard in 5inch is big enough that I rarely mistype any message.
The reason(s) phone makers go for 4.5/4.7 inch phone years ago was because of the production cost & battery size.
FYI, bigger display means bigger power consumption, no matter whether the display (WVGA, HD, FHD, or QHD), the bigger the display, the bigger it consumes the battery.
Moreover, depends on the display technology, IPS or AMOLED display costs more than ordinary LCD or TFT ones, which is why the choose to use smaller display to keep the cost down.
FYI, Qualcomm are one of the "honest" company. They portfolio of SoCs & naming hierarchy does reflect on the QUALITY of their chipset. No matter what Nokia FANBOY says, SD430 have both CHEAP price & CHEAP performance. 8core Cortex A53, clocked @1.4GHz, manufactured using 28nm fabrication, equipped with low-end Adreno 505 which BARELY able to support FHD is prove that the NEW Nokia is still the same old GREEDY Nokia, NEVER made DECENT smartphone yet priced them as expensive as DECENT phone made by other phone makers, the mainreason why people choose Sony Ericsson or Samsung phones over Nokia before Android eras!

[deleted post]That's a lie right there! After some research, I found (from Anandtech and other sources) that Snapdragon 430 is an older version of 435 and the 625 is not only the higher end but also is a newer version of the 430! The 430 doesn't even support 4K videos while the 625 does. The 430 also has poorer GPU than the 625, it uses Adreno 405 while the 625 uses the 505 version, meaning that these Nokias will LAG in gaming! O and the 625 uses 14nm process while the 430 still uses 28nm which means the 625 will also be more power efficient!
Now why would someone lie to defend the greedy decision of a company is beyond me. The 430 isn't even a proper midrange processor and Nokia didn't even use the newer version, the 435! That's just too greedy.
And lastly, I didn't call someone stupid, I called a company stupid because of their greedy decision. Also calling someone stupid doesn't make him considered stupid himself, that doesn't make sense and well just, stupid.
