The Nokia 3310 is back, but it's not exactly a pretty sight

26 February 2017
The EUR 49 little handset does play at the nostalgia strings, but isn't much of a looker.

Looks aside, camera, design, and features, fact is many operators do not use 2G anymore, 2 out of 4 in my country already have, and I guess this will happen worldwide soon enough, so this phone not having 3G makes it useless out of the box for many

3210 was much better looking than this ones. It had sturdy built, better design and appearance.

I'll buy one for the fun of it and keep in my car for a backup. Will probably buy one for my nephew to show off at school and to take on school trips and overnight stays. Brilliant idea by Nokia - a loss leader to bring attention back to the brand.

They let function dictate design when it shouldn't have. This phone is not supposed to be practical - it's supposed to be an homage.

The original 3310 looked so much better. This one is just odd. Looks like a rip-off of a chinese rip-off.

I never liked the look of the 3310. I had the 3210, that I liked of quite a lot. Just wished that it would have had a back cover with the same stone-like look like the front. That was the thing I liked better with the 3310/3330, that the back had the same color as the back (but no option with the stone like finnish of the 3210).

So in my opinion, I don't think this actually look worse than the original. Its looks is about as bad.

The 2G only seems limiting. I understand that they are after the best batterylife. But perhaps they should have installed two radios, and had a 3G only mode as well, to allow for 3G use, and still decent batterylife.
Leaving wifi out, also seems like a big omission. Sure wifi uses a lot of battery, so it should come with auto shutdown, and warnings and so on. But in a phone like this, the user is unlikely to have a good dataplan.

At the end of the days, with those types of omissions, it is a retro only phone, and then, why put a bigger color screen on it?
They could have just made an 3310 in a thinner body with a bit less bezels, with USB charging port. Or made it as thick, and put a larger battery inside, with dual direction power support, so it could act as an batterypack.

The Nokia 230 looks much better in my opinion.

It should have Google Assistant (or another solid ai voice manager) built-in. That would be a great combo

Disappointment is all I can say. Obviously those who made this phone have never had or even seen a genuine 3310. When they said it would be a mix of 3310 & the new 150 I thought O Oh! Like a telly tubby. The original was good. This makes it look like a super model.

this is just a feature phone and people are demanding cameras and specs to be a low-range smartphone, this is why aliens don't visit this perfectionist planet of ours, demanding people with less knowledge of the functionality of what they are asking for from a phone regardless of what brand it is from

IMO, the revival of the once legendary 3310 was getting a lot of attention, however, HMD failed a bit in its design, specs-wise and price is on-point, but not the exterior design.
