Symbian S^1 did have virtual portrait QWERTY keyboard. It's just that for a reason unexplained, they decided not to omit portrait QWERTY keyboard in S^3 initially.
Honestly, I think this badmouthing about this and that OS is very childish. But since somebody started it... Android didn't even support bluetooth at the beginning of last year and Android still doesn't support Ad-hoc nor global font size setting. iOS didn't get multi-tasking until last summer, and its multi-tasking is still half-baked.
You can find flaws in every OS. So what's the point of this childish name calling? Grow up. If you don't like Symbian, fine, but at least try to discuss the matter in a mature way.
I don't get it, if somebody defending Nokia, why do some people assume he/she is working for Nokia? Using those people's reasoning, if some people is defaming Nokia/Symbian, are those people working for Sammy/Google? Grow up!

It looks that the response of the display is really bad and slow... And the screen itself is not really bright and sharp. I think that after Samsung´s Super AMOLED displays it must be very difficult for other companies to sell high-end phones without premium screen.

i've been using sym... moreIt's so pathetic to say that Symbian is a "copy cat", since it's was one of the pioneer of the smartphone market so every system that came after obviously copied something from Symbian, now if you tell me that if Symbian do something that Android does it's a "copy cat"? Ah come on. So Android copied the flat menu structure of the iPhone and it's a "copy cat" too? It's so damn pathetic.
About the keyboard, I can't understand why GSM arena said it's unconfortable, I can't see how it could be better than that.

I like this new software for web and full keyboard vertical. I hope Nokia can release it soon. Anyway I am very happy with N8 already!

i've been using symbian phone since many years
then i realized that,...symbian is something that " boring "
now, i sae ..new improvements... it's good, but still a copy cat : * they use widgets??? how come... i hope they will be more creative and not copy cat
widgets belongs to android phone
why symbian use widget ??
just want to make symbian equal to android, and get the fake " android " feels
