Secondly you havent seen a released product, so determing that its a gimmick is more than close to stupid. All of the "normal phone" features were deemed gimmicks at the time, but look at us now, 6 inch screens with 2k resolution, 20 Mpix cameras and so on... Luckily people doing the innovation have balls to try stuff, not just listen to little smuck like you - oh hey, my 3310 is good enough with snake and everything - touch screen who needs it! Only idiots use cameras, who need color on their screen, it will just eat the battery ...

DNS, 01 Mar 2017Another useless gimmick like the curved screens on the gala... moreAgreed. Samsung has really been gimmicky these past few years since their S3 and S4 peak.

I would, however, like the idea of a foldable tablet as one of the early sony tablets with its nintendo DS like dual screen was a good idea and made sense as the tablet can be bigger for use and smaller for carrying.

[deleted post]it ain't trolling, Samsung or not, flex will be an issue for this, all brands had issues with flex before that's why flip/slide phones did not draw much attention, but what do we know, maybe those issues has been fixed already with a different tech, let's just wait

it's not about the functionality anymore, it's all about the coolness. Imagine you bend a smartphone on a train, people will wonder what phone you are using and curious about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Samsung pull this off. In the last 10 years, we have seen the initial shape of our phones and how we interact with them become stagnant, barring a few gimmicks. As long as they spec it right, I'll be willing to give it a try. I've never bought a phone based on how popular it is with the masses. Some of the end users have to be forward thinking otherwise we wouldn't have the smartphone like we have today. I'm in your corner Samsung, impress the world once again!

Watch this be just a cruel disappointment, and only runs Tizen

It would be much better to put 2 separate displays that come very close together once the phone is unfolded. 1 display is a nightmare to implement reliably, besides who needs this except on tabs or larger devices
